NBA reg season thread (we don't care about the finals)

If you believe that Barry is a miserable cunt, talk about basketball in this special thread.

Now that the rounders is finished I was hoping I'd be able to see some matches soon. Nothing in the schedules though. Gutted.

Gutted is a bit extreme actually. I'll tone that down to disappointed.

There were two games on here last night: Orlando v 76ers and Lakers-San Antonio. Orlando and San Antonio won.

Tonight, there are two games on ESPN: Wizards at Raptors, 7 p.m. EST; Lakers at Trail Blazers, 9:30 p.m. EST. Shaq's out though.

Luck the Fakers. Never could stand them, or their Hollywood fans.
The Kings didn't play that well, but it was only the Cleveland Cadavers, after all.

He played last night and scored 18 points (7 for 25 shooting). Van Horn played pretty well for Philly.

He started last night.

The Lakers should get off to a rocky start since they'll be without Shaq and Rick Fox. Can't see anyone beating them in the playoffs though. The Nets will be good again.

You might be right about that. I think that Philly felt like Mutumbo was declining. I don't think anyone really knows how old he is. Nets look pretty good this year.

If Shaq's healthy, the Lakers will win again. I think the Nets will be there too. Unfortunately, the Knicks will be pretty bad.

The Spurs looked very strong last night. Their new Argentine star Emmanuel Ginobili, seems poised to be the next big import to take the league by storm..

Agreed, Sac will finally beat LA and then go on to win. I think they just have too much talent/depth, and now they have the experience.

The Lakers will be hard to beat in the finals. They've still got the two best players in the game, as well as the best coach ever, and a good supporting cast.

ehh ??? Shaq's the NBA's leading scorer (along with AI) when he's healthy. When healthy, he's easily the most dominant player in the game.

Apples and Oranges. Shaq plays a completely different position than Iverson and Kidd. There are plenty of 'Giants' in the NBA, but none are even remotely as good as Shaq. Infact imo, there have only been about three Centers in the history of the NBA (Kareem, Russell, Chamberlin) who are as good as Shaq.

If I had to pick the best players in the NBA today it would go:

Shaq
McGrady
Webber
Iverson
Bryant

I left Duncan out because he's increasingly a Center these days.
