No doubt Spain was the best team, but there are a million reasons why they don't deserve the title.

Spanish deserved to win this World Cup much more than the Dutch, who basically kicked their way to the final. I know the Spanish dive a lot, but they haven't been as bad for that in these later stages, while Robben and von Bommel have picked up their game in that department. The better team won on the night, it would have been a disaster had the Dutch won.

Still a rubbish final, easily the worst of the three that I've seen.

And that disgraceful dive to get Wiel cautioned should have been a yellow as well.
I'm surprised he was still on the pitch as well after being on the receiving end of Van Bommel's horror challenge in the first few minutes.

It's very similar to the 1990 final where the best team (Germany/Spain) came up against a resilient Argentina/Holland and squeezed past them not very satisfyingly amid a flurry of misbehaviour and bad feeling.

what are you on about Bob.

Of course they are worthy Champions.

A shitty final no doubt..regretfully most in recent times have been.

1982 and 1986 are the best I can remember.

2 more years for Euro 2012.

West Germany ran out steam in 90 and only just managed to get over the line. But they were the best side in that tourno as a consequence of some brilliant football. During this WC, Spain didn't really play as well as we know they can. They were brilliant against Germany, but that's it, from what I can recall. For me, it was almost like the 94 final but with a lot of diving.

Hopefully Poland-Ukraine 2012 will produce some good stuff, you can usually rely on the Euros.

That was a shit final. Spain dive far to much. The tempo of the game was slow as a result.

I'm very unsatisfied.

It got better as it went on I thought, might have been more fun if Van bommel and De Jong had been sent packing early doors as they should have been.

Dumb move from Windsor to take off Villa for gimpy Nando just as he, Iniesta and Fabregas were gelling and creating openings but thankfully it didn't cost them, the goal seemed to happen in slow motion as everyone looked over at the linesman.

Not a great final and not a great World Cup but I enjoyed it overall and thought the best team won.
