found a small report -----
Late, Late Show Gives Reds Three Pontin's Points Pontin's Holidays League Chester City 0 Manchester United 1 A last-minute strike from Mads Timm kept United at the top of the Pontin's League table. Going into stoppage time level, the Reds looked set to slip into second place behind Oldham Athletic who beat Wrexham 3-1. However, Danish striker Timm exchanged passes with Ritchie Jones before firing home the goal that consolidated United's one-point lead over the Latics. It was the only real talking point of a dour game in perishing Chester weather as United's Tom Heaton and City keeper Wayne Brown both performed admirably to keep the scoresheet blank. Colin Heath did manage to beat Brown in the 80th minute, only to see his effort crash against the City bar. That seemed to be the final episode of a frustrating afternoon for United, until Timm popped up to save the day. Report by Steve Bartram. |

Reds Hunt Top Spot After Defeating Liverpool
FA Premier Academy League Manchester United 1 Liverpool 0 Trafford Training Centre, Carrington Fraizer Campbell got the decisive goal to defeat bottom-placed Liverpool on Saturday as United continue to chase first place in Group C of the Premier Academy League. The Under18s kept up the pressure on leaders Blackburn Rovers - United's opponents next weekend in a top of the table clash - with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Liverpool. After a scrappy start to the first half United began to take control of possession, although the final pass proved somewhat elusive in the early stages. Jonny Evans impressed with his aerial dominance and composure on the ball at the centre of United's defence, while Darron Gibson orchestrated the team's attacking moves in the middle of the park. Gibson engineered two of United's best chances in the first half, one of which led to Campbell's goal. The Derry-born midfielder possesses a powerful shot and after 20 minutes saw his low 25-yard strike rebound off the post. With Liverpool offering very little in riposte and the solid Reds back four of Simpson, Evans, Shawcross and Kieran Lee mopping up any opposition attacks that did arise, United were in the ascendency. The breakthrough came after 26 minutes. Gibson flighted a free-kick - awarded 25 yards out and just left of centre - into the heart of Liverpool's penalty area. United striker Fraizer Campbell met the ball with a firm header to put the home side in front. Francisco Filho's side played impressive possession football and very rarely offered Liverpool a goalscoring opening. But Liverpool proved stubborn at the back and United couldn't convert their use of the ball into more goals. The introduction of Jamie Mullan in the second half offered an outlet for the Reds. The Nottingham-born winger immediately provided three dangerous crosses for Fraizer Campbell to aim at. Mullan almost provided the Campbell's second of the match on 72 minutes. The striker from Huddersfield met Mullan's centre with an acrobatic scissor kick, which, had it been either side of the keeper, would surely have doubled United's lead. The scoreline remained 1-0. But with United and Blackburn level on points, the Reds have given themselves a chance of moving top next Saturday away to Rovers. Campbell's goal was his ninth of the season. The young striker told MUTV after the game: "It's always good to score goals but the most important thing was that we keep up the pressure on Blackburn at the top of the table. Of his nine goals this term, Campbell said: "I don't know the secret to it. I'm just getting in the right places at the right time." United starting XI: Crockett; Simpson, Shawcross, J Evans, K. Lee; Marsh (Mullan, 64), Gibson, Rose, S Evans; Gray (Puustinen, 79), Campbell (Moran, 79). Subs not used: Heaton (GK), Aaron Burns. Goal: Fraizer Campbell (26) Report by Ben Hibbs, at Carrington. |

Webber: Eagles has landed
Watford striker Danny Webber admits he has not been surprised by the quality of Manchester United midfielder Chris Eagles. The 19-year-old winger was signed during the transfer window on a three-month loan deal - and has impressed his new colleagues with his assured displays. "I can't say I've been surprised by what he has done," said Webber a former Old Trafford graduate. "He's been very good for us since he signed. "He can play anywhere across the middle and is providing a little bit more class in that department, which is good for the team," he added. |

From some Birmingham site i found this:
Blues Reserves were comprehensively beaten by Manchester Utd Reserves on Monday evening. In front of a decent size crowd at St Andrew's, Keith Bertchins side slipped further away in the title race, going down 3-0 to Ricky Sbragia's free scoring Red Devils side whose win see's them leapfrog Blues in the Barclays Premiership Reserves League table. What made the result even more surprising was that the Blues boss fielded such experienced players as Darren Anderton, Robbie Blake, Darren Carter and Tiny Taylor whilst his United counterpart sent out a team made up mostly of youth team players! Blues: Vaesen, Parratt, Alsop, Oji, Martin Taylor, Carter, Robbie Blake, Anderton, Kuqi, Barrowman, Motteram. Subs: Legzdins, Birley, Till, Painter, Hall |

Blues Res 0 Man Utd Res 3
Story by Brian Cartlidge 15 February 2005 Blues Reserves were comprehensively beaten by Manchester Utd Reserves on Monday evening. David Poole opened the scoring for the visitors on 33 minutes and five minutes before the break United doubled their advantage when Colin Heath capitilised on a poor piece of goalkeeping by Nico Vaesen. United striker Floribert Ngalula wrapped up the points for the visitors on 62 minutes. The result saw Blues slip to fourth in the league table, four points behind local rivals Aston Villa at the top and having played two games more. Blues: Vaesen, Parratt, Alsop, Oji, Martin Taylor, Carter, Robbie Blake, Anderton, Kuqi, Barrowman, Motteram. Subs: Legzdins, Birley, Till, Painter, Hall. Man Utd: Heaton, Picken, Eckersley, Pique, Spector, Fox, Heath, Ngalula, Poole, Rossi, Martin. source |

Sylvan Ebanks-Blake broke his leg and is out for rest of season so I think Poole moved into the middle alongside Rossi which i think is his best position. |
