I'm not normally a person that is affected by strong graphics in movies, but, yesterday, for the very first time, I had to leave the cinema, because of the scene. Who has seen it or is planning on going to? Quote:

mad, bad and full of squeamish moments, its a wonderful exploration of how the human mind reacts under the intensest of pressure as well as portrays the desire to live.
I also enjoyed the tempo of the storyline and thought it magnified critical moments to perfection Spoiler
All that being said, something was missing that stops it becoming an all time classic - when it ended I was left feeling not completely fulfilled and Im not quite sure why that is. 8/10. |

Franco beyond carries it...but when the film is based off one man, that's not exactly a bad thing.
He's just as good as Firth as far as I'm concerned, and he doesn't have Rush and Carter backing him up. |

One thing bothered me about this film, it was very good by the way, his beard doesn't change throughout. After 5 days he should have a fair bit of growth, stupidly pedantic bit that kept annoying me.

I saw it last month when it was first released. It was a great movie and Franco was amazing in it. As far as the real person, Aron Ralston goes, that man is just an inspiration in my eyes.
To do what he did, I guess none of us know if we could do anything like that unless you're in that position of life or death. I got teary-eyed at the end when it showed the real Aron sitting on the sofa with his family. |

Thought it was a decent movie. Despite the faily limited storyline and pretty much single character base, Boyle did really well to make a movie out of it. A good one too, as despite the fact he falls down about 20 minutes in, the flashbacks and mood swings really keep you watching.

Watched this earlier.
When it was released I remember wondering how they could make a feature-length film just about a guy being stuck. Thought it sounded be quite boring but knew they must've pulled it off somehow (judging by the reviews). Turns out I was right, it was quite boring... And I usually enjoy any kind of crap. |

Finally got round to seeing it. In a 'lesser' filmmaker's hands, it could have been really dull bit I thought it was well done. Franco was excellent and it was beautifully shot.
Well worth a watch, although it's quite uncomfortable at times and 'that' scene was pretty grisly - I think it's knowing it really happened which makes it so bad...Ralston must have balls of steel to have done that! |
