You wont be disappointed. Those were easily some of the best Batman stories out there.

I also like the way the filmmakers tied the theme in The Killing Joke into The Dark Knight movie.

Could be a coincidence but I liked this rumour.
Nolan has a habit of dropping subtle hints into his Batman movies. For example in Batman Begins when Bruce is pretending to be drunk at the party near the end he calls the guests "Twofaced" The Joker car at the end obviously wasn't so subtle.

In TDK "Cats" are mentioned and like you've already said the Mr Reese/ Mystery is surely too big a hint to just dismiss.

Look at the article called "Dent cannot be believed" it is written by Edward Nashton. Edward Nashton is an alias and I believe the real name of The Riddler.

Something else I thought was strange.... not sure if anyone else mentioned it, I couldn't be bothered to read through this, but did anyone notice they never showed the face of Commissioner Gordon's daughter... who becomes Batgirl...?

Did they mention Barbara, even? I doubt they'll be following the exact course of the comics...

When the cop comes to tell Gordon's Mrs. that he's dead... the mother tells the son to go inside to her sister and when the mother and son are tied up the sister is there too but she's hugging the mother and you only see the back of her head

I watched Batman (1989) for the first time today. I have to say Nicholson as the Joker was extremely looney. Now there was a crazed character if ever I saw one. However, I do prefer Ledger's interpretation of the Joker with his sinister arrogance and general quiteness before he bursts with laughter. Two very different performances.

Yeah both are good, but The Dark Knight is definently better

I also noticed how with the asian dude they mentioned "calculations" a hell of a lot, and isnt there a villain called the calculator?

I personally don't know many Batman villains, but i think no one can compare to the joker, I suppose it'd be good if they did the Riddler or the penguin (even though Nolan said they probably wouldn't do him as he is too unrealistic).

Yeah that part was good, another good one is

Joker: You know, I don't want there to be any hard feelings between us Harvey, when you and uhh Rac
Harvey: RACHEL
Joker: Rachel were being adducted, I was sitting in Gordon's cage. Now I didn't rig those charges
Harvey: Your men, your plan
Joker: Do I really look like guy with a plan?

The way he says the last line is just hilarious.

I love one of the best stereotypical "action" lines of the film, it's in the trailer i think. Something along the lines of when Rachel resists the Joker he says

Joker: A little fight in you?....I like that
Batman Appears And Shoves The Joker
Batman: Then you're gonna love me

I liked these towards the end;

Joker: " Do you know how I got these scars?"
Batman: " No, but I know how you'll get these"

Some good deductions there mate. You're spot on there is a villain called the Calculator. He's not Batman specific like say the Joker but old Bats has battled him in Detective comics before. The Calculator was most widely used against the JLA (Justice league of America) Members as once he was beaten he'd push a button on his suit and it would analyse the powers/tactics of the hero defeating him, Which stopped him ever being beaten by that hero again, thus why he was never a regular in one given DC comic.

Batman has the best rogue gallery of super villains in comic book history.

If Nolan gets it right (which he will) The Riddler could be incredible in the next movie. Jim Carrey's performance in Batman Forever and Frank Gorshins in the '60's show made the Riddler into a second rate Joker wannabe always looking for the gag and a little bit hyperactive to boot.
