Here we can talk about all things Blu, such as the latest releases, the last blu-ray you watched, your own reviews etc...
I still have so many blu-ray's in their seal, I haven't had the time to watch them... ![]() Personally I can't wait for Batman Begins on Blu ! But also the Matrix and LOTR Trilogy ! Great website for Blu-ray reviews - www.blu-ray.com |

I recently bought Blade runner on Blu ray. All i can say is WOW!
The film is over 20 years old but the picture quality is exceptional. I have been really impressed with the PS3 Blu Ray player. |

It is region locked for Blu-ray, but many discs don't use it. You have to make sure that you check first. I expect that Blu-ray is the same, but the region locking of DVDs on the PS3 is in the XMB software, it's not in the hardware - people report to have played DVDs from outside of their region on the PS3 under Linux.

Seems like it possible to play ripped Blu Ray movies now on ps3 by burning a image file on a dvd5. Sure it's not like a full 50gb Blu Ray but should be better than normal DVD. http://paste2.org/p/24873 |

Yes, the quality will not be the same, but for some movies you will get DVD quality or slightly better, or lots of discs. There is always the HD option for HD movies. They keep cracking the BD disc protection, then they close it, then they crack it again. It seems that games might never be cracked.

I agree that the picture quality is extraordinary for a movie so old. |
