I'm not saying it was bad. I was just saying that it seems to be the exact same as the other seasons. I liked the first episode, it just felt a bit familiar.

Decent season so far. RZA has been great on it, and the interactions between him and Duchovny have for the most part been very good. Shame what they've done to Runkle though. He was always a bit(well a lot probably) pervy, but they have taken him down to one, very sad, note joke.

Personally I find Runkle to be the only funny thing about the show anymore.

The Hank-Karen shit has just gotten so stale that I could not give 2 shits anymore. There aren't even any hot women with their baps out this season, something last season had in abundance despite otherwise poor plots.

Completely run its course, in fact really none of the last 4 seasons have in any way managed to capture the brilliance of the first season, but it's Showtime and they milk the teat of every fucking show they have dry.

I've actually quite liked all the seasons so far. Just downloaded it and watched everything up until this season over a few days. I didn't know I was supposed to dislike it.

There are too many sc's in the show where they show supposedly intelligent adult characters using phrases and words that 16-17 year-olds would find immature in the context that they are being used in.

There's some decent plot lines in the show that are being ruined by schoolboy-esque dialogue choices that people would never say... even perverts (and I know quite a few perverts).

And whoever brought up Carla Gugino is spot on... why? It just becomes boring a predictable.

This is a classic example of a show who only really had gas for one season, hence you had that ending at the end of first season. Creators at that time thought they may not get a second season so decided to have a proper finale instead they got more seasons and could not come up with any meaning-full arcs.

Some standalone episodes were good in next 3 seasons but not a single good arc which resulted in some proper character development took place. I meaning think about Hank's stint as a teacher, what did that accomplish or what was it all about? Absolutely nothing, just a complete waste of time.

Spoiler he slept with Carla Gugino, what was the point of setting her up as someone who saw through him, was his intellectual equal and then have her succumb to him so easily and lamely, it's just become boring titilation with a few good lines. Although part of it was jealousy because she is smoking. Really though they ruined it in the season 1 finale.
