Pressing F11 makes the buttons appear when you have set them to off. The menu disappears though. Fucking Windows! Then you can fanny about with it.

On non-full screen view, if I right click on the menus and toolbars, I get something like: Standard Buttons, Address Bar, Links.

After pressing F11, I get: Menu Bar, Address Bar, Links.

If all else fails then go to your "control panel" > "folder options" and look around there. Last resort, click that "reset to default" button. That should do it.

Tried that didn't seem to do anything. Ticked all the options, applied that. Nothing happened. Click restore to default. Nothing happened.

Could it possibly be a virus or adaware? Is there any point in me doing a 'Hijackthis' scan, saving the log and posting it on here?

Well I don't know pal it seems you've done something more than just the ordinary.

Do you know what you did on the computer before it all disappeared?

Installed anything recently? Is it possible for spyware and adaware to mess with the system in such a way? Try doing a quick check. Probably best to search the internet for this one.
