Perhaps that is why, despite loving the song and liking his version, I don't love it in the same way many do. I actually think I might prefer KD Lang's version.

One of the best and most subversive songs ever written either way.

Also, I prefer John Cale's version of Hallelujah to Buckley's ... here's one I found on youtube, but I prefer the live version I downloaded years ago.

I don't like that version but I know the Cale version you are talking about and I do like that one.
