Yes they are. I used the latest update for the 360 and as an example, I looked at Adebayor. At first when the game was released he was rated 79, now he's 85 to start out.

in the be a pro mode, how do you actually get on it?
I tried it today but all I kept seeing was loads of people coming and going with my name in the centre and I couldn't move anything or play the game

You move either left or right, depending on which team you want to play on.

To answer my own question it seems there are no tournaments for international teams in the game because EA want to squeeze every cent out their license and use the feature to roll out games for European championships and world cups, apparently they have been doing this for years, i was completely oblivious to the fact though. However I am not sure why there no African nations, Asia cup etc in Fifa 08..
Anyway i found this out today when i came across EA's Euro 2008 demo on the PSN store and found it to be actually quite good, they seem to have tighten up the game a lot more, its feels crispier and you have a lot more control over players. The pes fans who hated fifa 08 (i still do at times) should download it, I can ensure you will prefer it to fifa 08.

I think if you set up a Be a Pro game online, you could play with between 2 and 10 people, so could play 2 v 2 or 3 v 3 for example.

I haven't tried setting up a private be a pro game but am sure it's possible. Will be up for this but won't be online with the PS3 for about a week as am moving.

It is possible, I've played 2v2 a few times with my mates. Just do it through "Be A Pro" mode, set up a room then get your mates to meet you there.

It's allot more fun than 1v1 in my opinion.

Same here, I use them sparingly though. Getting a bit bored of it to be honest, I might move to a different league at the end of the season.
