Be a pro mode is fun. Kinda realistic compared to normal mode as you will have to have a good positional/anticipate passes and read the game better.

Is it me or can you not perform tricks on the pc version? I got a ps2 type usb controller and the right analogue stick dosent do anything when i try to perform the tricks.

I have no idea how good it is compared to next gen 'cos I've only played on it on PC.

Graphics are alright (I have a fairly good gfx card) some of the players look very realistic (Anderson, Rooney) but some players look completely like a different player (Carrick).

Gameplay is okay, but I've always preferred PES.

Carrick looks well realistic on the 360

even frazier campbell looks like frazier campbell

Electronic Arts re-shoveled shite yet again. Somehow, year after year they change a bit of data in the database, spend a month twiddling with the code, and spoon feed shite down the mouths of people who yet again are willing to pay them another 40 quid for the privilege.

What's it like compared to Fifa 07, any major changes, better graphics, game play etc.

Some gameplay tweaks and the graphics is a bit better. Be a Pro is a decent addition but only 360 and PS3 has the special Be A Pro camera angle. It's not worth buying but it's worth a download if you liked 07.

I've got it, and it's.... it's playable. 96 was ace, since then it's been rather slow. 2000 was fun too, I guess. Thing is, they're obviously making these games for consoles (same as PES), so it's a bit shit on PC. Since I'm incredibly anti-console (except slightly for Playstation 1/2)...

Oh, and I also think it's stupid as fuck that they changed the button you switch players with. 10+ years with the pass button and now suddenly they decide it doesn't work? Bastards.

Of course, one good thing is that United is pretty much the best Premiership team, and has also got a pretty nice transfer kitty.

i bought it today. I really like it but the camera angle took some getting used to. I use the dynamic 2. Pro can be a little annoying when playing as the whole 11. Only problem i am finding at the moment is scoring. And before anyone makes any immature wisecracks i mean in the game. Better than 07 and i think a real step forwardfor the series. Anyone help me get the goals flooding in??

I will also buy PES because ISS was the classic game for me and i have always been a big fan of the series. But Fifa have really made PES assess the situation and not let them become lazy and that can only be good for gamers and the industry.

only gripe so far is the players stamina in management mode, 3 matches in and you have to rest the players

however this has allowed me to see that frazier campbell is pretty decent, 3 goals in 2 games while rooney and tevez were putting their feet up
To be honest this was even worse on FIFA 2007.

The thing you want to do is spend as much as possible on your stamina coach - all the way up to a level of 10.

If you do this then you will be able to play the whole game (4 minute halves) with your first 11. They also recover fully between matches.

I am learning to go easy on the Sprint button, which helps too.

What skill level are you playing it on? I'm on Semi-Pro and struggling to score goals. My performances have been exactly like ours so far this season - loads of posession but just lacking in the final third.

Is the game really that realistic...or am I just pants...

I could hazard a guess that there are twice as many 360s in homes than there are PS3s. EA economies of scale, the twats also think that PS3 owners have more cash to burn (this sort of bears out by crap studies that have been done that suggest that over 50% of PS3s run on HDTVs, whereas only 30% of XB360s do) so try to take advantage - the cnuts!

Just downloaded and tried to install it. It doesn't work on my laptop. I have a crap graphics card apparently (Intel). So I won't be able to play fifa or pro evo on PC.

How do you go about upgrading a graphics card for a laptop then? Is it very expensive?

Then why don't you buy Heavenly Sword, Uncharted, Rachet and Clank, GT5:Prologue, Haze, Unreal Tournament 3?

Should keep you busy until Killzone 2 and Metal Gear 4 turn up.

I got the last PES, and to be completely honest, I wasn't impressed. I really don't see what all the fuss is about. FIFA is far from a perfect game, but PES isn't either.

No, it's not!

It's pegged for mid November, so you've got a month and a bit to wait yet.

Is Fifa 08 like the same as the next gen versions, i.e PS3 on PC ? Because of PS2 it's a totally different game.

It's not worth getting for ps2/pc. It's basically the same game it's been for the last however many years. The 360/PS3 versions are the most realistic football game i've ever experienced. You have to work so hard for a goal, passing the ball about patiently and waiting for an opening, that scoring the goal gives you such a sense of achievement. And this is playing on the professional difficulty, two steps down from the highest.

The Be A Pro mode is also fantastic. I can't wait till we get the patch for 5v5 be a pro online.
