Lawrence of Arabia is epic, fecking epic! the sheer scale alone makes it a top 20 film, not even taking into account the awesome acting and compelling story.

Thread worth bumping.

Good list, seriously. Always open for contention but I have to say I pretty much enjoyed all those movies although I haven't seen 400 Blows and I've always thought Casablanca was over rated. Shawshank probably makes my top 100 just, but yeah I agree with most on here, I think it's only so highly lauded because of the cult status it's received.

Not enough comedy though, I think some great films have been overlooked like The Naked Gun, Uncle Buck, Waynes World etc...seriously, not taking the piss those are great movies.

And finally Mulholland Drive should be in the top 5. It is a work of genius of the highest, highest order. The Jurando scene in Club Silencio is possibly (IMO of course) the most moving scene in movie history.
