Can it only be worked if you have the patch downloaded? Can it work from the original game/database?

Because it's a database there is no reason it shouldn't work with the original version of the game. Have you put the .zip file directly into the/db folder? If you have, try taking the WORLD 92 folder out of the zip file and put that in the /db folder.

It's finally worked. It worked as soon as I downloaded the patch and put it on. It didn't work on the original database. Cheers for all your help.

When I got to December the board anounced an increase in my transfer budget....from £5m - £28m! So I bought the likes of Figo and Zidane (both costed me around £12m) first thing I get in my monthly report from the board is "The board agree with the fans in thinking the signing of Luis Figo to be a poor piece of judgement"

They said the same when I signed Keane too

I've only just started, but I spanked all my budget on Hristo Stoitchkov.

My scouts also inform me after scouting Keano - 'We should avoid signing this player..'

Maybe I'm not playing to his strength. Scholes is a better goalscorer for me! I'll change it around and see what happens.

This 1992/1993 game is so hard. Arsenal never drop any points. I can't get near them.

It's weird having players in the United squad like Colin McKee, Neil Whitworth, Pat McGibbon and Craig Lawton. All end up being really good players in it.

Is that in the 1992 game? It's so easy to get players for next to nothing and turn into world class players. I bought Given, Henry, Silvestre, Van Nistelrooy, Stam, Yorke, Kanoute, Del Piero for less than one million and they are all class.

I'm finding it harder than the normal game though. I win every game at home but can't seem to do anything away. The only thing I can do is go all out attack and hope to grab a 3-3 draw for 4-3 win. It's rock hard.

It is indeed the 92 database, they wouldnt be in the under 18 squad otherwise

I've bought fuckloads for under a million, Van Nystelrooy, Kluivert, Nuno Gomes, Ronaldo (fat), Keane, Rivaldo, Del Piero, Silvestre, Ballack, Deco, Van Bommel, Henry, Toni.

Then there are the odd multi-million buys such as, Zidane, Figo, Kahn, Davids, Bergkamp, Stam etc.

I've got Given coming in January too. I'm in my second season, won the Prem last year, semi finalist in Champs League and Finalist in the FA Cup.

That corner trick really works. I put Schmeichel as the player challenging the gk on corners and he scored 31 in one season. Not bad, for a keeper.

Anyone else having work permit problems in the 92-93 version?

I couldn't get Rai even though he has 27 caps and is in the Brazil team, wonder if it has something to do with the player's reputation...

I've started a game with Leeds and have agreed to sign Maradona on a free transfer and would be pretty gutted if the permit doesn't come through

make your corner taker put the cross in the 6 yards box. get your best header of the ball to challenge GK. put the rest to attack from deep. Micah Richards scored 22 goals for me in one season.

That. But also make sure you have your two next best headers of the ball attacking the front post and back post respectively. Make sure your corner taker has good stats for both corners and crossing. Keep a couple of players back because now and again the opposition will break with Schmeichel 85 yards from goal.

This can work having your good header challenging the keeper but I've noticed that they will never man-mark your keeper, leaving him free the whole time.

I started a new game but will post a screenshot when I get something similar from him again.

Yea it's often hard. You can sign the players but not play them as they don't have a work permit (even though they just signed) .

After signing him, offer him a new contract. If he is able to sign the new one, he will be eligable to play. If it does not allow him to sign it, loan him out (to Antwerp if were United) and leave him for a season. (if you offer him for loan some European team will look for him). When he returns from loan, he may be able to sign a contract if he has played an international matches during his loan period. If that fails (and if you were United), loan him to Antwerp for a further 2 years until he gets his Belgian citizenship!

e.g.
I signed Batistuta and was not able to play him. Offered him a new contract straight away which he signed. I was able to play him.

I had to send Mijatovic to Antwerp for 3 years before he got Belgian citizenship as it was impossible to get a permit for him.

I signed Roberto Carlos but was not able to play him. He couldn't sign a new contract. I loaned him to Antwerp for one year, offered him a contract which he signed and then was able to play him.

You will definately be able to sign Maradona!

There's no need to put someone on the near post, as occasionally he tries to "steal" the ball targeted for the one attacking the goalkeeper. In reality, you really only need a single one to attack the goalkeeper and 6-yard-box corners - the other 10 players can stay back.

One attacking the goalkeeper with 2 attacking from deep just in case, with one on the far post and two lurking outside the box for long shots seems to cover all the bases for me.
