Plus, it doesn't sound like a bus when you play it.
This isn't a rip off...

See, it may look a good deal on the outside, but throw in another £120 for a decent sized HDD, another £40 for XBL (Each year), and already you're upto £299.99, same as the PS3 with a couple of games.

Another note is that games are getting bigger and bigger, and there is no way a DVD will be able to handle that (They even had to cut bits out of MGS4 becuase 50GB wasn't enough) So it wouldn't surprise me if Microsoft released another console in a year a so and just abandoned the 360 like they did with the original XBOX.

All in all the PS3 is a much better deal than the 360, but each is to their own. If you prefer the 360 over the PS3, then that's your choice.

You should have an ethernet lead so just clip that into the back of your 360, pay £40 for XBL Gold and you will be up and running.

Only if you want a 120gb hard drive. Which is 3 times the size of the one you will get for the ps3 at the same price. I dont know anyone who has, or would ever need a 120gb hard drive so if you spend £300 on a 360 in todays market you have probably been mugged. You can get an elite with 120gb hard drive for £240 and you can get a core console with a normal 20gb hard drive for £180. And XBOX live is expensive aye, but it is better than PS3's version.

The PS3 is a better console, but if you are willing to spend £300 on that I don't see how you can claim the 360 is a rip off as the 360 is cheaper and still has its own advantages over the ps3.

And to be fair I got my xbox live gold with the camera for £44.99 brand new, which is about the same price as the ps3 camera eyetoy thing.

I spent £425 on mine, which I steel feel is a good price for everything you got with it. (Well I actually didn't spend anything, I just traded in my broken 360 wuth about 13 games).

The 360 could have been a brilliant console had it not been rushed to gain an advantage over its rivals Sony and Nintendo. Has it happens it was, and as a results it has cost Microsoft billions, not that it matters to them as they are worth so much it is unbelievable and they can afford to have catastrophes like these and get away with it, just like with the original XBOX. Still, I take your point, I would just rather fork over an extra £150 for the PS3, particualry when you consider the catalogue of games it has coming out over the next 12 months.

Fair do's. You won't regret it, expecially once MGS4 is released.

Ha I'm not a big metal gear fan to be honest. I'm not really one for sneaking around, I get a bit impatient. Might get it for the multiplayer though as that looks mint.

RPG's and FPS' are my type of game. Can't wait until the new Final Fantasy is released, although by all accounts that won't be for another 100 million years.

FFXIII is going to be amazing, is definately going to be worth the wait. Hopefully be with us early 2009. And you can actually play pretty much the whole of MGS4 in First Person if you want to, so check it out!

Yeah. I have just bought a ps2 slimline and FF7, 8, 9 and 10 on ebay so I'm half way through playing them again. Fecking hell how good a game was FF7. Graphics look terrible compared to COD4 and stuff, but its such a good game I barely even notice.

Yeah I might do. I say I don't like tactical shooters but I am a big fan of Rainbow 6. And to be honest I never gave MGS a real chance. I remember playing the demo, I think it was the first level on the first game, where you have to get to the elevator or summit. I remember having to move and hide behind boxes and dodge the cameras and shit and I just got bored of it. Never really played one again after that

I don't know, I'm just glad I opted for the 360. My roomate has a PS3 and for the first half of a year it was basically useless in terms of producing quality titles. Plus I never was into that whole Final Fantasy thing, so I feel the 360 is better suited for a guy like me.

The PS3 has many more exclusives than FFXIII, the only game I wish I had a 360 for this year is GOW2, and that will be released on PC, like pretty much all Microsoft 'Exclusives'.

The XB360 was drowning in a sea of quality titles for its first year wasn't it?

Fortunately I was kept busy with classes. Also Elder Scrolls IV was massive, and had updated content to download frequently.

And to address the problems with overheating, my Xbox just overheated for the second time, and they are fully replacing it for free (again). I know its a pain, but I love the way XBox Live works and I think its pretty superior to the PS3 version. You gotta take the bad with the good, and in my case, the 360 was a better choice.

That is besides the point, Microsoft should produce a product that will work and not break down every few months. Obviously you will get a few that inevitably break down, that is just how technology works, but the failure rate of the 360's are just unbelievable.

Oblivion was also released on the PS3 about a year ago, and many consider it to be the best console version.

it is exactly the same, bar a few textures and loading times, which they had over a year to work on to improve

Never played it, just viewed many commenting on it having certain things upgraded, such as framerate.

Looks like GAME stores have stopped taking pre-order as well. Or so was told when i tried to pre-order today. This game is gonna fly off the shelves. I think i have no option but to go to the midnight launch, however sad it may be.

Good. FF7 is still probably the best game i've ever played. The storyline is like no other game on the market, it has an incredible soundtrack and is still amazing to play.
Square-Enix would do well to look over some of the previous final fantasy games because 12 was well below par, in my opinion. Poor storyline, shite soundtrack, fairly short, and in general just not that exciting. I thought they'd build on the platform that was laid down by FFX but they made a mess of it.
