The Shins are great! Sometime around 2003 or 2004, indie stopped actually meaning indie and started meaning british-curly-haired-tight-jeans-wearing-interchangable-wankers-who-write-interchangable-songs.

The Kooks, The Pigeon Detectives, The Feeling, The Fratellis, The View, Kaiser Chiefs, they're all really the same shit band in disguise.

Libertines are fucking great, as are Dirty Pretty Things.

Every indie band that has come about in the last 18 months can fuck off though, except the Klaxons who are decent.

I thought the Libertines were great though i'm not convinced by the DPT, i've been to see them live and they were a bit disappointing.
If you are after a good band though, i strongly recommend The Rifles, they are cracking yet don't seem to get much media attention
