MacBook Pro

Just picked up my first Mac today. Can anyone recommend some cool apps or anything I need to look out for? Especially a Torrent program as uTorrent doesn't have Mac support yet.

Didn't know if this should be in the General or Entertainment.

Just downloaded Transmission, and I'm getting faster speeds than anything I've ever got with uTorrent.

Yeah, I read that. I'll probably download it because I like the interface.

Does anyone know of a good (free) program that will rip my iPod to iTunes? I lost a lot of it due to an external HD taking a shit.

Just google mac apps and you'll be able to find a lot. Quicksilver is pretty cool.

www.opensourcemac.org

This site has some really good downloads - all free. It has a few that are mentioned already - VLC, MPEG Streamclip.

Also recommend:

Get Tube - download You Tube vids
HandBrake - DVD Ripper
Mac The Ripper - another DVD Ripper
xTorrent
Senuti - download music from iPod

Actually using Senuti right now, pretty happy with it. Got HandBrake and Mac The Ripper, haven't played with either, but I'll try when I get up later today. Just downloaded VLC too.

Thanks for the inputs everyone! Keep 'em coming.
