Went to watch the Avengers again last night to try and escape from anythnig football related.
I have seen the third Dark Knight Rises trailer a few times on the internet, but to see it in the cinema takes it to a whole new level. Glad to say that they've fixed Bane's muffle and I simply cannot wait for this now. |

I think it's a shit poster too. It's like a fanart effort complete with awful tagline. It's basically the teaser poster re-coloured and a shot of Batman added infront of it. The composition is terrible.
I doubt a shoddy poster reflects the quality of the film, mind. |

This one is looking increasingly predictable and tedious. Shame, really.
What is with the 45 trailers? I got the fucking point. The movie's out July 20. You need to make 500 million the opening week. Idiots. |

How is it predictable. I reckon I know everything that will happen in this film but thats from my extensive knowledge of the source material, and even I believe I'm in for some suprises.

What the fuck am I reading here? People getting bored of these spots and trailers? Oh my... and it won't be predictable, you'll think that but Nolan is a genius and will pull it out of the bag.
This is going to rock. |

I'm sure i've read on here that a few posters are fans of comics/graphic novels.
Never really read them myself with the exception of the Marvel Civil War series, but interested in knowing if anyone recommend reading any of the backing stories before TKDR comes out? |

I've also listed them in order with the first 4 being the must reads. The others are where Nolan gets the rest of his stories ideas from (with the exception of Arkham Asylum which is what insprired the computer games and Red Rain which is just fun and Death in the family and under the hood.) |

Thanks Gambit, I thought it was you that I'd seen talk comics before but couldn't be 100%.
I seem to remember people saying that a lot of The Dark Knight being taken from The Killing Joke. And i've heard whispers of TKDR being based around aspects of Knightfall. Will check them out, whilst I don't want to know what to expect from the film before I see it, I'd quite like to get a background on Bane and any potential association with the League of Shadows and in particular R'as al Ghul. Granted this may be totally different to Nolan's take on the franchise, but i'm interested in Bane's origin, and potential motives... |

They're are based around a mixture of the different comics. The most influental being Batman year one and the long halloween (the long halloween especially for the dark knight, not so much the killing joke). League of shadows and Rhas al ghul read son of the demon. Bane read knightfall.

Empire's website is doing a feature on Batman at the moment. Some interesting bits amongst the waffle for anybody who's interested.

So. Apparently it's been screened for the press, and after it finished droves of critics were crying, hugging/high-fiving each other, and some even calling their estranged parents. No joke.

Press screenings? Ok that constitues a lockdown, no more reading of the press, no twitter comments, no reviews. I'm going cold turkey until I've seen it.

The press screening yielded some very positive comments.
One journalist commented "I cried twice, once through sadness and once through pure fan boyism". Can't friggin' wait for the 20th! |

Im not a superhero fan in any shape or form. I don't care about Spiderman, superman or Captain America. I've never read any marvel or DC comics but I'm really excited about this film. Batman films are generally awesome and Nolan is one of my favourite directors. Added to that Bale and Hardy are very hood actors and I think this will be ace. I'm purposely trying to avoid the trailers and the like to prevent to much plot spoiler also. Can't wait
