PS3 - what games should I pick up?
After finding out that PS3 is region-free for most games, I'll pick up a system and a few games at local GameStop store tomorrow. I'm planning on spending about 200$ to 300$ on games.
Can anybody who's in possession of PS3 or has played a few of its games recommend me some titles that are worth buying? Uncharted is a must-have from what I've heard, so is GT5 prologue. What about other the rest? |

The good thing about dollar costing about two times less than 2 years ago is that now I can buy a lot more stuff when I'm in the USA than I would have bought back then.
Has MGS4 been released already? I think they have it listed as a pre-order there. |

Call of Duty 4 - get online and waste your life away.
Oblivion - Lord of the Rings-esque game, a layered game but absolutely brilliant. GTA - feeling anarchistic? I would wait for the new Pro Evo though. |

MGS4 - Simply the best game out at the moment.
Uncharted - Superb game, beautiful graphics. Resistance - Excellent single player campaign and online keeps you going aswell. COD4 - Best online game out there. RSV & RSV2 - Both superb games and both superb online aswell, more tactical than COD4, and more satisfying. Warhawk - Fast, intense online action. Ratchet & Clank - Just one hell of a fun game! GT5 Prologue - Best racing sim out there, graphically stunning. Those should keep you in good stead for a few months untill more big hitters come out. Check out the PS Store as there are a few good games on there aswell, most cost a fiver at most. And if you have a HDTV, get a few Blu-Ray movies!! Once you've got your online account set up, post your online ID and we'll get a few games going ![]() |

I had RSV for my 360, same goes for GTA4. Both excellent games, but no point in playing them over again.
Uncharted is really a game I'm looking forwad too. They do have MGS4 already as well, so I'll be buying it definitely. The price for the system and games is awesome as well. Top Spin is my another choice, solely for multiplayer purposes. Any decent sports games released yet? |

However 4 was just 'more of the same' and didn't really offer any major changes game-play wise. Was still a good game, but it became rather boring after a few hours. They should have done to DMC4 what they did to Resident Evil 4, give it a complete re-vamp and refresh the series. Hopefully they will do it with number 5. |

Uncharted is a must if you ask me.....i was never into those types of games before but that in fairness blew me away.there were times i just stopped playing and enjoyed the view the graphics were that beautiful....however if you play it make sure you have HD to get the full effect. Gran tourismo 5 prologue is also a must if you like racing games(however i'm biased as the GT series has been my favourite for years) COD4 is another brilliant game, the best first person shooter out there and online its just hours of fun....single player has some levels which are so different(the sniper mission for one) never played MGS but i heard the new one is very good.they were never really my type of games but maybe since uncharted changed my opion of third person games i might give it a shot. Warhawk online is good fun but is purely multiplayer. There are obviously more out there but these are what games i have and played bar 1 or 2 of em which aint worth mentioning and will be traded in for the next game i'm getting ![]() |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Do me a favour and shut up. FIFA 08 is the first DECENT FIFA game of the series and it's still far far behind the gameplay that pro evo gave us and is still giving us right now. Admittedly pro evo 2008 wasn't an improvement on pro evo 6 but pro evo 2008 on ps2>>>>>>>>>>FIFA 08 on any console. I'll admit that pro evo hasn't lived up to its ps2 rep on the next gen consoles but the gameplay is still far more realistic and free flowing than FIFA 08 on the next gen consoles. The only EA football game that seems to even have good GAMEPLAY is euro 2008. Sarni, if you like graphics, licenced teams and ridiculous skills then go for FIFA 08 but if you want GAMEPLAY and your ps3 is backward compatiable then buy one of the older pro evos that came out on the ps2. oh 1871, the emoticons were all in good nature, don't take offence. I just get annoyed when people write absolute rubbish when someone wants advice on buying something. |

Oblivion - There is no excuse for not getting this. It can be picked up for very little money and is probably still the best next-gen game out there, despite being over 2 years old already. Be sure to pick up the expansions too, or alternavely the game of the year edition which comes with the lot already. The graphics are beautiful and i can guarantee that you will not do everything that there is to do in the game. Get it.
FIFA 2008 - This is the best football game i've played. It's still worth getting even if the new is coming out in a few months. The online play is pretty much flawless and the satisfaction you get out of the game is simply enormous. Final Fantasy 13 and Versus - I don't think Square-Enix will disappoint again here after the absolutely collosal let down that went by the name of FF12. These two games are visually stunning and are certain to have a fantastic soundtrack and storyline. I may end up getting a PS3 just for these two. |
