RedCafe FIFA12 Tournament - League & Knockout (PS3)
Update: Gameweek 3:
You may now play your second set of games, even if you haven't played everyone once. Since no-one has played everyone once, I will put the limit at 15 games maximum for the end of the week (18th Jan) ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Please only join if you have time to play 4 games or so a week from January 1st. This can be increased if we are moving at a fast rate of games. I haven't made a definitive decision about how many games will be played as of yet. I'm hoping we can get at least 20 participants which will allow two leagues of 10 players followed by a knockout round hosting the top 4 teams from each group. If we get more than 20 then there will be more players per league, or possibly another league. Players will play each other twice if we have 14 or under players in each group and once if there are any more. Understandably, if there are too many games to be played then people can become bored and lose interest. Ideally, everyone will play a fixed amount of games per week and you'll play everyone once before playing an opponent again. As always some people have more free time than others so some will finish playing their games quicker than others. I think the best way to ensure the table stays in sync is to have limits on games per week: Minimum of 2 games a week Maximum of 6 games a week No 5 star teams are allowed. Like the last tournament, you must use a different team every game. Once you have used, say Spurs, you won't be able to use them again in the competition. It's the best way to ensure people don't stick to the likes of Madrid and will hopefully test ability more than it would with getting used to one team. When the tournament is finished, I'm hoping to be able to make sure everyone has a rank, even if you didn't get into the final 8. It gives you more of an incentive to play, even if you know you aren't one of the stronger players. I haven't decided how to do it yet but it'd properly involve playing the corresponding position in the other league. For example, 7th position of both groups would play each other for rank 13, with the loser getting rank 14. It'd allow a nice table to list the best (and worst ) players. With Christmas being a busy period it'll probably be best to wait until 2012 before we started getting going. Pop your PSN down if you want to play. The groups will be drawn randomly. I'll keep a note of which player has used which team to make things easier. Post your scores in the following format Caf Username (Team Name) 3 - 0 (Team Name) Caf Username Total players - 22 Wayne_Rooney (joe_thered) Levo91 (Levo956) - Levo is a newbie. Games will have to be organised via PM. I want to enter and defend my title (
) but I haven't played Fifa for a while so I'll give this a miss as I doubt I'll be on to play the games. I'm sure there'll be one around Easter.

Sure, I'm in (PSN Snaedal)
I highly recommend a google spreadsheet to keep tabs on the results and standings. Easier for everyone if the link is in the OP or first comment. Also, no minimum nr. of manual controls or maximum assisted controls to keep it a bit balance? I'd be a lot better player if I'd have some assist for shooting. I'm quite rubbish at 1v1's tbh. |

I still think that we shouldn't have controller restrictions. It'd give too much of an advantage to people who've been using them for years against people who have never used them before. Quote:
I see.
