The album is very mellow...actually more mellow than I had anticipated. It helped me get through the hangover from hell.
He has a beautiful voice and thought provoking lyrics accompany. I like how he remains pure to a distinct Irishness. The lad's a gun'un |

So I have finally taken the plunge and invested in a Mac, Logic and all the interfacey shit I need.... hopefully it will be the start of actually getting few tracks recorded as I've been threatening for the past 5 or 6 years.

Based on a discussion (rant) in The Voice thread here..
The Voice BBC 1 About people just singing and not writing anything...I've written a little ditty, called Sing For Me Mable. http://soundcloud.com/baron-von-bang...g-for-me-mable It's very rough and unfinished, considering I did it in about 3 hours. There's no bass or drums or anything really apart from the basics, and I got a bit bored near the end cos the football was about to start and just started saying "fuck you", but it's full enough. I might add to it later. Depending on whether I drink enough basically. Anyway, BLAW! I thought I'd put it in here cos I deleted one the other day. I'd had a bit too much to drink that day. |

Here's one of a few songs I played to some mostly uninterested students the other night. Still a few bits of it I want to change, but I'll probably never get round to it, so:
Since the mic on my laptop is so crap at recording guitar, and I appear to be the only person on earth without a professional recording studio in my bedroom, I've tried to use my keyboard to add bits other than guitar, and then record it plugged direct to my laptop without making it sound like I've constructed some instruments out of cardboard and attempted to play them whilst fighting a lion. Consequently I've decided I should probably leave my keyboard alone in the future. I will also one day get around to writing better lyrics. Well, that's probably a lie, as doing so would consume time, but it's the thought that counts. Quote:

Sorry. It's a pickup for acoustic guitars. You do this -

- plug the cable into preferably a professional bedroom recording studio, but a mic input on a laptop will work, just a mono signal - and record away. Probably won't sound super-clean, but it will sound much better than just recording into a computer mic. |
