They've just got a four and a half star review in the usually stingy entertainment guide of The Age newspaper over here. The reviewer says:

So what do you get when you combine two of rock's finest singer-songwriters, in Josh Homme and Dave Grohl, and team them up with Led Zeppelin bassist John Paul Jones? Rock album of the year, that's what.

He then signs off with:

So many supergroups can be a let-down, but this mind-blwong debut manages to live up to the hype

It makes me sick that this album's already appeared on the Piratebay, it really does.

Anyone heard the album?

I've heard and its really really good. You can stream the album on youtube, from the band itself. So its not stealing. Since Josh is on guitar and vocals it has a bit of QOTSA sound to it but the riffs and drumbeats are crazy. I haven't heard a better album this year I think.
