Yay, more staged "accidents" where we're supposed to be in stitches.
Top Gear was better when they actually reviewed cars, supercars or not. But now all they do is ridiculous "challenges" that couldn't be any more staged, and we're supposed to believe that (1) they don't know what's coming, and (2) that the "accidents" that occur along the way aren't staged. Not to mention the fucking weird way the last season ended with Clarkson practically driving along in tears in that Aston Martin. |

It can be a bit staged these days but when they get it right its still hilarious - the time trial in Mallorca last season, for example, when they bought those three cars in an auction in Kings Lynn and then raced around Mallorca with a midget, a bimbo and a none English speaking Spanish guy - absolutely hilarious stuff. |

I don't know, I just don't think it's very funny anymore. Hasn't been for a while, ever since each show became more and more about ridiculous challenges. |

Watching them back endlessly on Dave, it's not really changed too much since May came in. It's always been staged, it's always been ridiculous... but it's always been funny! You take it for what it is. I'll be watching tonight

Yeah, I can't stand him either. But Count's right it's cringeworthy at times. . . yet it's still a decent watch. So, I guess I'm sitting on a comfortable fence.

That road was incredible, would have loved to have been there in any of those cars!

I loved the part with the 760Li and the S63 AMG just for the way it was shot, absolutely sensational. I love Top Gear but even if you hate it, the car scenes are a great watch with the sound off. BBC know how to produce a show, they really do. Great camera work, great editing, stunning end product.

Honda is up there, Civics, Integra, NSX, S2000, Accord, cant fault them.
But there are plenty of manufacturers that have made great cars and knowing Top Gear they will be the kind nobody can afford. |

I don't really mind that it's mostly scripted but I hate that the scripts get more and more clunky every series. And Hammond becomes more insufferable each show.
The shows James May does for the BBC are far more enjoyable than Top Gear these days. |

I used to love Top Gear a few series ago. Thought it was the best thing on TV.
But Jesus, tonights was pathetic. The show is, as already pointed out, becoming more and more scripted. Everything ends up unfunny as it's either obviously going to happen or afterwards obviously faked. Or both, usually. Did they really expect us to believe the car rolling down the hill was an accident? And it breaking down right in front of a bus? And making a wrong turn so they end up on a dual carriageway? It used to be just the races that were staged. Now the whole show is. Sort it out Top Gear. Oh yeah, and Hammonds just annoying now. His joke hair doesn't help. |

Agree with the consensus that last nights episode was pretty lame.
The question about the manufacturer with the most great cars is a good one though. |

Ford is up there for sure, just for the Model T, Mustang and GT40 as mentioned in the show. Citroen is in with a shout with Traction Avant, DS, 2CV, SM among others. My brain is throwing a blank on me. Ferrari with the 250 GTO, 250 GT California, F40 to name a few. Alfa Romeo: 33 Stradale, 8C Competizzione, both great if only for design. Bugatti: 57, EB110, Veyron. Mercedes-Benz: A host of good candidates. Please fill in my list, I can't be bothered anymore. |

The NSX is a great car, you seriously cannot deny that. The chassis was designed by Senna ffs.
