Bury in Breach of Contract ?

Quote:
A pitch inspection of Gigg Lane took place at 11.30 this morning. The referee declared the pitch fit to play and the match was due to go ahead as scheduled.

However a director of Bury FC unilaterally took the decision that he would call the game off.

FC United believe this to be in breach of the terms of our groundshare agreement and will be seeking further advice.

We discussed the possibility of playing at Woodley but it was not possible to organise everything required to stage a match at such short notice.

We thank supporters for your continued patience and would ask you allow the board and staff to pursue this on your behalf.

Bury FC or should I say a director of Bury FC trying to drag their club into financial shit, if they have breached an agreement between Bury FC and FCUM it could lead to an investigation by the FA and being sued by FCUM.

And all these years I always thought it was up to the ref to decide if the game is called off or not

Quote:
Bury director Mills insisted the decision was taken for the benefit of both clubs.

Mills said: "It was unrealistic to play three games in five days on the pitch at this time of year.

"At the end of the day, we are the landlords and that gives us the right to cancel games.

If the ref says it can go ahead and for whatever reason the teams don't show you can be fined and docked points, it's happened many times before. The fact that they couldn't play and it was out of their hands I can't see how Bury have a leg to stand on.

The quicker FC get out of there the better.

They want the money but dont want to provide the facilities that the money pays for...
