Channel M

Quote:
Just a quick note to all to say that FC United: The Fans Club will be back on Channel M next week (Monday - Sunday).

We will have the normal half an hour show running from Mon - Fri, then a special one hour show next Saturday and Sunday with more highlights and action from the games. Check the listings on our website www.channelm.co.uk, or in your local paper for more information.

This episode will feature a round up of the months action, a chat with Margy et al, plus a Top Ten Goals of 2006. Should be a good one.

We will be down at Boundary Park tomorrow filming the show so if you see us don't be afraid to come up, say hello, and give us any suggestions how you think the show could be improved. We're always open to suggestions!

So that's FC United, back on Channel M, as from Monday. (Channel M is now on Sky dont forget, Ch 203)

Cheers.

P.S - We will be showing a 'best of' show at the start of June.

Afraid I don't have sky, Don't pay Glazer or work for sky, and I meant it. Not had sky for ages but I don't blame people who can't give it up, it's a big call.

"Won't pay Glazer... or work for Sky!"

When it's "Won't pay Sky"... I'm fucked! Can't give up Channel M's FC coverage and my two-year-old will kill me in my sleep if I take Nick Jr off her!

I'm still pissed after the presentation, it's easy for me as I now live alone.

Mick I watched the prog last night on TV M about FCUM and was vey disappointed at the level of football on display - pub team football on crap surfaces in stadia littered with empty spaces

IMO If you can get enough booze in afore the match and you can then stand and enjoy a chant or two or a singsong it is probably great fun but if you want to see football as it should be played then look higher on up in the leagues.

Sorry to say the above but I was brought up on Man United playing real football so watching this lot week in week out would break my heart

I aplogise if I upset any FCUM supporter but thats my honest opinion

I dont think a few clips of goals and a few missed chances really gives much of an insight do you...

I mean look at last night. Would it be fair to judge United on that 90 minutes.

Whatever the standard, its a damn sight more exciting than last nights game, and the passion at least gets aired...

The games shown last were a poor advert for the games that have been played up to know

believe me not all the games have been that poor

The pitch at Bury has been terrible the last couple of months which has not helped
the other game at Port Vale was also played in attrotious conditions with a premier game called off the previous day with conditions nowhere as bad
And a couple of games played after the league was won and with nothing to play for

Most people that I have talked to have been very surprised at the standard of play for that level

There again if you buy a car for £100 you wouldnt expect a Rolls Royce
You may have an old banger but it would still get you where you want

There again I have seen many a top level game that has bored me more and also sent me to sleep

As for the amount of people watching games what would you expect in a league that averages about 60-70 people a game and just over 100 people at a game is exceptional
So to get over 6000 at a game is nothing short of miraculous

Yes it is good fun and a day out

I can take the kids and they also enjoy it and want to go every week

Better to watch that level of football then going shopping every Saturday with the wife though

Whats up with watching both as there are plenty of times where you could watch an FC game when United are playing

No trouble no segregation no getting told to sit down by fans let alone stewards no police

Away fans and clubs going out of their way to help you get to games and help you out

Even my five year old daughter was nonplussed the other week watching a United game on tv and kept on asking me why they was all just sat there in the crowd with no one singing

Sorry to say the above but I was brought up on Man United playing real football so watching this lot week in week also breaks my heart as to how
3000 people can provide more noise and atmosphere then 70,000 at Old Trafford

And also paying through the nose for the privilege

But there again how many empty spaces was there last night with people walking out early

But the ones that got tickets from the touts must have been laughing

A fiver a go fuck me better get back to Old Trafford its cheaper then FC

Difficult to argue

Now persuade Fred

On a point about last night the FCUM keeper looked a couple of stone overnight and played dreadfully ( from the little I saw ) is he that bad now ??

he is possibly just about second choice I think Barrie George played most of the games

But Phil Melville(the best fat goalie in the league) came in and played about the last 7-8 games games
Wouldnt have said he was that bad a goalie though

But if you think hes a couple of stone overweight obviously you have not seen ex Man City player Leon Mike yet

I watched United for over 50 years and so have been used to a decent level of football and my biggest fear when I attended my first FC game was what to expect. I was presently surprised by the standard and the commitment of the players from BOTH sides and the atmosphere was fantastic. You comment on how football should be played this is wrong, the most important aspect is commitment, some of the football I have watched on the telly this season has been abismal and this is PL and I don't think some of the football played by United this season has been that real, do you.

Yeah I watched Channel M and United v Middlesborugh last night!

Phew!... what a lot of noise 68K people make!, I couldn't help notice a lot of empty seats though (this is the sort of shit I expect with FC!) and the goals, flowing football and comitment. I particulary liked the comitment Gary Neville showed taking time to talk to fans at the end of the game! Fantastic!... and actually there were no goals but....

PLUS All that on the back of the fantastic display against Chelsea... I'm packing FC in and going back to watch "football as it should be played"!

-----Sarcasm Ends----- Plagiarism Starts-------

Sorry to say the above but I was brought up on Man United Football Club playing real football so the watching the current bunch of over paid mercenary gob-shites week in week out, surrounded by vapid, soul-less, mega-store bag carrying, mate texting, photo taking, JCL, OOT wankers, would break my heart

First game watched in person was 79 (Leeds at home... 4-1 Andy Ritchie hat trick), first game watched on TV (I remember) was 76 FA Cup (and it was offside!)

I'm only taking the piss out of Topper's arguement by changing the words of his original post
