I would say the fact he's heading up one of the biggest advertising campaigns ever for a company who is doing as much to damage football as McDonalds is would point towards Eric being rather a lot about the money these days but don't let that get in the was of some stirring rhetoric..

My brother is really good mates with Dave Chadwick and Darren Lyons and when we started we had about 12 coming with us,most of em on Brollys highlights of the year compilation but by the end of the season most of them got fed up with it and stopped going.

I`ve heard worse off FC fans than I ever have off city fans and I live in north manchester.

So do I all I said was that in defense of Eric being flawed... so is Fergie! Early on in the season I was at Barrow and some lads behind me were obviously at the match for the first time with some regulars and they said "no ones actually watching the match", I looked around and they were right.This put the seed in my head and I`ve noticed it ever since.Ask anyone after the match in the pub how a player played and they hav`nt got a clue but they could tell what songs they started and what new flag/t-shirt slogan they were wearing to get noticed.Go on the FC forum and you get one football thread to twenty "did you see what I did" threads.

Knobheads wear jester hats but its fun and enjoying yourself to wear pink cowboy hats/wolf masks/terrorist gear/its a barm thing/the muffin men/pink shirts and flag etc. Does no one think the fans at OT are wearing face paint and hats to enjoy their day out to.Everything that was seen as a joke at OT such as wearing the shirt (only geordie and bitter dickheads do that)inflatables (I see your banana and raise you one dingy) are now part of the craic at FC.

There is more vitriol from some FC fans towards united htan any abu I`ve met.

I am an FC fan and I am Mancunian but I get sick of evangelists,placard carriers of DOOM,wanna-bes and some of the distortions of facts some FC fans quote as fact.I get sick of being told theres more passion at FC when the most passion I`ve felt and heard this season was during the Spurs and scouse home games. At away matches, fans of other teams (when there are any) have been heard to say "theres a lot of singing but its just pissing about."(or words to that effect).

It seems I am as bad as Fred for waffling when it comes to FC.

Out of all my mates/family etc. only my father-in-law still goes to OT, and I've always said "with him (my father-in-law) it's all about the football, not the craic... that's why he's at OT and that's why he watches Fiorentina (or whatever) matches at 1am because he loves good football...With us it's all about the pub/singing/football in equal measure... and it is! All my mates/family etc. discuss how shit Joz Mitten is or whatever (usually how shit Joz Mitten is though

) after the game.

BUT I can't help thinking when you go on the FC messageboard that the football is last in the list.

Having said that... the mainstand and a lot of the other (quieter) bits are watching the game, but there is big chunk of "fuckwittery" that goes on.

Dont get me wrong I dont go to the match and stare at the pitch like an alter, I sing at Old Trafford and I sing at Gigg lane,I stand with my mates and we go out on the piss afterwards. I`m not a great football fan,I get bored watching most games because its not united and my heart isnt in it. The only non united game I remember that came near to it was watching Arsenal beat the bindippers to the league in the final kick of the game.

Most of my match going mates go to both and I always try to get the lads who stopped going years ago to come down. The Boundry park games this season were good because they were the most like it used to be,Blackpool was good because it was the spirit of FC but theres been a lot of fuckwittery this season.

My worst moment of the FC season - being in the pub watching united before an FC game and some fuckwit behind me saying to his mate as we scored and the pub exploded "arn`t we supposed to hate united?"

Best moment - Hearing my blue mate sing "red army" with a big grin on his face then he bought his daughter a scarf (this I admit is amongst many good,funny and proud moments.

Still with you all the way!.... I never watch non-United football, unless it's on in the background whilst I'm working and I can listen for the "Oh! That looks like a serious injury" or "Well it's going to penalties!" bits. I've always said "I'm a United fan... not a football fan"

I think the thing is that I spent all my recent (seated) life at OT moaning about the pricks nearby. My ST was in Tier 2 (before that J stand) and I had a different cockney wanker behind me each game. The rest of the people near me were sound but every fucking game I'd have some bandwagon jumping cock behind me talking shite (cuminating in my twatting one 2 years ago after the derby... long story) anyway FC is no different, there are quite a few lads I know who I avoid because I'm stood with my mates, their kids, and my 60-odd year old dad, and their bufoonery gets on your tits after 10 mins... but I guess the best bit is you can judge where to stand, and move if you want to.

I've got a ST so all home games were done but also I skipped Barrow and Blackpool but went to loads of quieter games (Ashton Town away etc) so I could do the whole dad/mates/kids thing easier. (That said my mate took his teenage son to Blackpool and got him plastered... but that's a one-off

)

So in summary... "There's pricks everywhere!*"

Every man/woman is flawed its what makes us human,as far as I know no one is making Fergie out to be a god they are just showing loyalty to someone who has brought them so much. Most of the stuff said by the anti Fergie brigade is alleged and conjecture and cant be proven. I`ve heard stories repeated back to me or I`ve overheard them at the match repeated as fact when I know for a fact theyve been made up on redissue. Before you play the anti FC joker card I`ve only missed a couple of games this season,I went to Barrow,Blackpool the shite holes of colne and surrounding areas in the freezing winter to name a few but I get pissed off with some of the shit and myths that get spread round. I get pissed of with the majority of fans screaming silent "look at me`s" all the fucking time.did you see me? did you see what I did? how did Torpey play?- I dont know but did you hear what I said. I`ve never seen so many wanna bes in one place and I`m a musician. I love Eric and Ole and Fergie my point wasnt to slag them off my point I suppose is that most of the FC story is built round half truths and false myths and it doesnt half put people off. My brother is really good mates with Dave Chadwick and Darren Lyons and when we started we had about 12 coming with us,most of em on Brollys highlights of the year compilation but by the end of the season most of them got fed up with it and stopped going. I`ve heard worse off FC fans than I ever have off city fans and I live in north manchester. Rant over and I apologise for the length (I say that to all the girls )

I dont know or hav`nt heard any united fans say you or anyone else can`t pass comment on the state of the club but a large amount of FC fans are not only hypercritical of united but are most times abusive. As I have said I have not heard a city fan call Fergie a cunt but at FC his name seems to have become FergieCunt,just read Freds posts on here never mind going on an FC site. If you think you cant pass comment try telling an FC witness (similar to jehovas exept they post on websites instead of knocking on doors)(and I`m not accusing you of being one) you are anti-FC and all of a sudden even if you have been a match going red for 30 years you are a deluded fuckwit who doesnt have the passion,knowledge or love of united that he does. Got fed up with what? Like the bit above I REALLY don't know what you're on about... I'm not arguing or anything I genuinely don't know. Early on in the season I was at Barrow and some lads behind me were obviously at the match for the first time with some regulars and they said "no ones actually watching the match", I looked around and they were right.This put the seed in my head and I`ve noticed it ever since.Ask anyone after the match in the pub how a player played and they hav`nt got a clue but they could tell what songs they started and what new flag/t-shirt slogan they were wearing to get noticed.Go on the FC forum and you get one football thread to twenty "did you see what I did" threads. Knobheads wear jester hats but its fun and enjoying yourself to wear pink cowboy hats/wolf masks/terrorist gear/its a barm thing/the muffin men/pink shirts and flag etc. Does no one think the fans at OT are wearing face paint and hats to enjoy their day out to.Everything that was seen as a joke at OT such as wearing the shirt (only geordie and bitter dickheads do that)inflatables (I see your banana and raise you one dingy) are now part of the craic at FC. Do you mean that you think FC is ABU or anti-United? No I dont, as I have said I go as do my mates and many other lads from OT I know are staunch reds but another example is a video posted on the FC forum where it stated "those united fans with SENSE left to form a new club" a match going red said its shite like that that causes arguments and he was slammed by 2 or 3 pages of posts.Alls he wanted was the word sense taken out. There is more vitriol from some FC fans towards united htan any abu I`ve met. I am an FC fan and I am Mancunian but I get sick of evangelists,placard carriers of DOOM,wanna-bes and some of the distortions of facts some FC fans quote as fact.I get sick of being told theres more passion at FC when the most passion I`ve felt and heard this season was during the Spurs and scouse home games. At away matches, fans of other teams (when there are any) have been heard to say "theres a lot of singing but its just pissing about."(or words to that effect). It seems I am as bad as Fred for waffling when it comes to FC.

sin65 Left wing radical Join Date: Jun 2001 Location: Manchester Posts: 1,064	Dont get me wrong I dont go to the match and stare at the pitch like an alter, I sing at Old Trafford and I sing at Gigg lane,I stand with my mates and we go out on the piss afterwards. I`m not a great football fan,I get bored watching most games because its not united and my heart isnt in it. The only non united game I remember that came near to it was watching Arsenal beat the bindippers to the league in the final kick of the game. Most of my match going mates go to both and I always try to get the lads who stopped going years ago to come down. The Boundry park games this season were good because they were the most like it used to be,Blackpool was good because it was the spirit of FC but theres been a lot of fuckwittery this season. My worst moment of the FC season - being in the pub watching united before an FC game and some fuckwit behind me saying to his mate as we scored and the pub exploded "arn`t we supposed to hate united?" Best moment - Hearing my blue mate sing "red army" with a big grin on his face then he bought his daughter a scarf (this I admit is amongst many good,funny and proud moments.

Posts: 518	Still with you all the way!.... I never watch non-United football, unless it's on in the background whilst I'm working and I can listen for the "Oh! That looks like a serious injury" or "Well it's going to penalties!" bits. I've always said "I'm a United fan... not a football fan" I think the thing is that I spent all my recent (seated) life at OT moaning about the pricks nearby. My ST was in Tier 2 (before that J stand) and I had a different cockney wanker behind me each game. The rest of the people near me were sound but every fucking game I'd have some bandwagon jumping cock behind me talking shite (cuminating in my twatting one 2 years ago after the derby... long story) anyway FC is no different, there are quite a few lads I know who I avoid because I'm stood with my mates, their kids, and my 60-odd year old dad, and their bufoonery gets on your tits after 10 mins... but I guess the best bit is you can judge where to stand, and move if you want to. I've got a ST so all home games were done but also I skipped Barrow and Blackpool but went to loads of quieter games (Ashton Town away etc) so I could do the whole dad/mates/kids thing easier. (That said my mate took his teenage son to Blackpool and got him plastered... but that's a one-off ) So in summary... "There's pricks everywhere!" Especially the Newbies on here!

A fucking kid. The opinions of a 14 year old cause you that much concern, christ. THe same 14 year old kid who wears the pink hat which you somehow equate to being the same as a 40 year old married bloke wearing a Jester Hat. THe person who replied it was shit, was in fact the very person who ran onto the pitch and got belted by a steward at the Colne game, and has openly advocated the use of drugs, and pitch invasions at fCUM games..Yet you hold him in such high esteem. i could also reveal a little more about that person and some of his antics, but I cant. That would give you a very good idea of why you are way off the mark by defending his view. Lets just say he has been involved in many things which a vast number of United fans are very upset about. He is the last person who should be preaching on the word "sense"
