While not great, Durham are my local team- which is fantastic as it means at least one FC United game next season when they come up to the North-East

FC second favourites

current odds:-

Corbettsports.com, the UniBond League Official Betting Partner, has announced the latest championship odds for teams competing in the forthcoming 2009/2010 season.

Kings Lynn FC are the favourites to take the UniBond Premier League crown on www.corbettsports.com priced at 2/1. Other teams fancied to have a chance at winning the title include FC United of Manchester at 10/3, and Bradford PA and Nantwich Town priced at 4/1 and 5/1 respectively. Outsiders to win the Premier League title include Matlock Town and Worksop Town, both installed at 33/1 to produce a shock in the new season.

Worksop could be worth having a punt each way at them odds

[QUOTE=robertsoncrusoe;6728990]Another slow start.... anyone see the game last night?

Poor (Very) in the first half although I had a bad view although still had a good view of what should have been a penalty which could have made it 1-1 and another good shout for another later also turned down
Unlucky in the second half and could have even gone on to win with a bit more luck

still think they need a few more games to gel together

But judging by the team in the programe last night a few may have been past it

Where do we need to come to have a chance of being promoted? (are there playoffs like in the higher divisions?)

Top 5 champions go up into the conference north then its play-offs for the next 4

Played a lot better last night for the first win of the season against a team that has won all its games so far and could have gone top with a win

Wont make any difference where they finish in the league this season as they are dropping down a league or two next season

After the conference league saying they will not accept them into the league because they have a plastic pitch their main sponsors pulled out straight away leaving the with severe financial problems

Most of the original team have left and they are now playing with a load of kids

That's sad.

Hopefully they survive.

they have been fucked about big style

As they have a plastic pitch was told it would be ok in the Conference then at the start of this season they was told the club will not be promoted if it finishes the season as Champions nor will it be allowed to take part in the play-offs if finishing in a qualifying position

Resulting in their main sponsor backing out loss of chairmen and not having the money to pay players which then ended up with almost all of them leaving and a load of kids being brought in

It's not good but...

a) We have games in hand
b) Durham are down unless Father Xmas brings them a new squad
c) Kings Lynn have gone bust so they're down
d) We're a club short in the league so there's only 3 relegation places.

How are they going to deal with Kings Lynn? If they void their results some teams that have already beaten them will be pissed at having a victory wiped out while other teams that lost to Kings Lynn will have a loss wiped out- especially if it ends up deciding a playoff spot.

They were playing well about 6 weeks ago- beating top teams in the league and then the cup games seemed to interfere with the momentum.

The assumption is that they will void all games, but 10 or so years ago a similar thing happened to Spennymore and they gave all the remaining fixtures to the other clubs so some got 3pts some got none (coz they played and lost both home and away games) and some got 6pts for nowt... Hyde United ended up winning the league because of the changes instead of Farsley Celtic and all hell broke lose!

Good win at the admittedly poor Durham City today. Could've been four or five, and there should have been an FC penalty. Atmosphere was superb too.

Is the game at Nantwich on this weekend?

My Dad's planning to go and he said he's heard no cancellations but that the weather is shit currently round that area.

Nothing as yet although someone on their forum said he was a bit concerned over the pitch getting waterlogged but nothing official yet
Best bet would be to check the forum before travelling or join the text service that is free of charge

For anyone needing the text service send a text FCUM to 07786 200 353

All texts received are free of charge

Brilliant win that. Hopefully a win at Worksop will keep the pressure on the sides above - as there's quite a few within a point or two; and thankfully relegation doesn't seem a worry any more. Cracking result to come away with from Nantwich though.
