Got a FCUM shirt...at a mall in the US, no less
What a strange thing to be walking through a typical American shopping mall, and what do I spot, but a FCUM t-shirt! Right there along side Real Madrid and Inter Milan shirts. I was so excited, I bought it immediately. It's just not something I ever expected to see here in the US. I know it would be better to buy a shirt through the club itself so that they get the money, but with overseas shipping and the economy, it's not feasible.
It was at a little kiosk, where they sell all kinds of football (soccer) shirts. Most are knock offs. Apparently they're made in Peru or something. All the shirts are basically the same. They have the city name in block letters arching across the top (i.e., Madrid, Milan, etc.) and then a logo patch in the center of the shirt. The one I bought says "Manchester" across the top, but I recognized the FCUM logo the minute I saw it. I'm not crazy about having Manchester across the top as that does not specify a team. It's probably a safe bet that the shirt makers/sellers think it's a Manchester United shirt. There is such a strong South American influence in this area, that they typically don't know there are multiple teams in Manchester, and pay little attention to European football outside of a little bit of La Liga and Serie A. Another thing that I liked about this kiosk is that they had Manchester United jerseys that were clearly also knock offs (no Nike, and likely no money in the Glazer's pocket). A nice little F-YOU to the Glazers, and practically in their back yard. In fact, these jerseys, while having the AIG logo, had the old "Manchester United Football Club" logo. That put a smile on my face, as I am still disgusted by the removal of "Football Club". After they did that (98, was it?), I haven't bought a single item of official Manchester United merchandise. Anyway, it's not easy to actively support FCUM from over here, but I'm always wishing them well, lurking in this sub-forum, and really enjoy being able to keep up on their progress through this forum. |

I bought mine directly from the online store, shipping was something like 5 pounds, it's the inaugural season in long sleeve, long out of stock now

I'd love to buy an official jersey from the online store someday, but may have to wait till the economy picks up, as it's a little pricey for a shirt when figuring in the exchange rate and overseas shipping. Anyway, here are a couple of pictures of it (forgive the wrinkles, I had just worn it a few days ago and had to drag it out of the laundry for the pictures )![]()

Thanks for posting the pictures. This is an insane story.
I might write it up as a story for the match programme or UTB fanzine (http://www.undertheboardwalk.net/) because everyone I've told the story to has been both amused and fascinated. |

All I am saying is your design could be replicated by buying a red t-shirt and having the badge stuck on it. Infact, they had red shirts with white trim exactly the same at Topman not so long ago.
Not much of a design, sorry. |

Does anyone know when the new home shirt will be announced? I want to buy one, but would rather wait 'til the new one comes out.
Planning on making it to a few matches this season after completely failing to last year... |
