Some help please... my first match

Okay so I'm pretty sure that I'm going to go to see FC tomorrow after promising myself for ages that I would.

I just wanted some advice on getting there.

I'm in Manchester so I'm guessing the tram would be the best option!? Does anyone know how long this takes?

Also which is the best stand to sit it atmosphere wise.

Thanks.

you can get the tram but this will then leave you a good 15 min walk down to the ground If I remember right the actual tram journey will take around 25-30 mins as well
I normally get the bus that takes about 45 mins but will drop you off right on gigg lane

Must be your first game as you wont be sat anywhere
Although its an all seated ground most people stand

As for which stands thats a matter of personal choice however if you like a drink and some (usually) live music get yourself in Malcolm's which is situated in the MRE but you will have to get in early for that as it often gets full
If going in there check first that you can get in as it means paying to get in the ground first

Cheers Mick. From viewing the FC forum I had a feeling it might be you who would respond frist.

Sounds like the bus is the best option then. Yeah, I knew people stood from the vids I've seen but automatically said sitting. Must be a result of the United stewards always asking us to sit down.

Thanks Again.

I finally made it on Saturday too, came down for the weekend and, after getting slightly lost in Bury (stupidly never thought to check where Gigg Lane actually was), had a great time despite the end result (still can't believe we managed to lose - that penalty...).

Thought the support was fantastic (was in the Manchester Road end) and here's to many more!

Metro to bury, bus to gigg lane, it's not hard

Yeah, that's where it all went wrong, for some reason we just started walking from the metro, asking random passers by where Gigg Lane was until we found it... I blame the hangover from the night before.
