As a result of the continuous wet weather the Gigg Lane pitch has started to hold water, with heavy rains set to continue overnight and into tomorrow.

League rules stipulate that, in order to give each fixture every chance of being fulfilled, a pitch inspection must take place by a suitably qualified referee.

Once the pitch inspection has taken place we will inform supporters of the outcome, via all usual channels. Supporters are urged to visit the website or telephone our information line on 0870 6260 295 after 9:30am on Saturday 6th September 2008.
