United miss chance to press home advantage
Blue Star did FC a big favour last night, beating Curzon 2-1.
FC couldn't capitalise enough, though, with Jerome Wright scoring a last minute equaliser against Woodley Sports. Those results give Bradford Park Avenue the title but also put FC in pole position to take second place. |

A lot of the players looked as though they were running on empty and they only started to play in the last few minutes |

Also how does promotion work? The Unibond site seems to show three sides relegated from the Premier Division, champions of First Division North and South automatically promoted with the next four playing off. Do eight sides play for one spot or am I misreading something? |

Top one promoted. Next 4 in playoffs, so at the moment FC, Curzon, Skelm and Bamber. FC could do with 2nd, meaning 2 home games(wins), if I am not mistaken, and they would be promoted. |

Top team from both North and South promoted
Then one team from each league promoted via play offs Premier league is a team short of full strength so it will be three teams relegated and four teams promoted to it bringing it up to full strength(If that makes sense) |

There are 21 sides in the Premier Division. Thanks. |

Thats right and they want 22 in it next season hence the three down four up Which looking at the Tony Kempster web site could possibly look something like this Although don't read too much into it as these tables are based on league tables as they are at the moment top team going up and second placed team winning the play offs and bottom three being relegated etc Northern Premier League - Premier Division 2008/9 Season Ashton United Bradford Park Avenue Buxton Cammell Laird Eastwood Town FC United of Manchester Frickley Athletic Gateshead Guiseley Hucknall Town Ilkeston Town Kendal Town Leek Town Leigh RMI Marine Matlock Town Nantwich Town North Ferriby United Prescot Cables Vauxhall Motors Whitby Town Worksop Town Northern Premier League - First Division North 2008/9 Season Bamber Bridge Bridlington Town Chorley Clitheroe Curzon Ashton Garforth Town Goole Harrogate Railway Lancaster City Mossley Newcastle Blue Star Ossett Albion Ossett Town Radcliffe Borough Rossendale United Salford City Skelmersdale United Trafford Wakefield |

I remember Bradford in the old Fourth Division. I went to school in Crosby so I've been to Marine a few times. I've seen Buxton, Frickley Athletic (assuming they used to be called Frickley Colliery), Leigh RMI, and Nantwich playing against Tranmere Reserves in the Cheshire League. I've even played against Matlock but that was a sports quiz against their supporters club. |
