It wasn't a shit kit when (nearly) it came out in 1975. It was a shit hot kit.

It was so popular that aside from a temporary change in the crest in 1978/79, we wore it for five years.

The whole idea of FCUofM is obviously to recreate the grass roots football many older supporters love and enjoyed. Having a retro style kit seems pretty obvious and quite a nice touch.

If I can put an outsider's view....

Someone once said that a camel is a horse that was designed by a committee, and it appears that some of you think that this shirt has elements of that about it.

But it's not that bad, surely? I've seen dozens of worse designs and if I was a supporter (which I'm not) and they made one big enough to fit a lard-arse like me (some fucking chance...) I'd wear it.

And ripping off the fans?? Well that depends on the difference between the price theyr are bought in at and the price they're sold to the fans. It's a subjective issue and one that can only be answered by the people who actually run FCUOM.

How can the club be ripping off the fans, when the fans are the club...

Not all the fans are the club. And democracies don't represent the will of all the people, merely the majority (or biggest single minority). Be like blaming me for the Labour Government when I voted Lib Dem...

It does look like it onlt cost a couple of quid to produce that shirt. It's on sale for £27 is it? Won't go over old ground, but should have made a bigger point of charging a lot less...

Trust me that shirt didnt cost a couple of quid to make, in fact you try going out and getting a custom made shirt for much less than £25 with embroidered stitching then of course you've got VAT to pay too.

Why should the club charge less ? Every penny of profit goes back into the club and makes it possible to charge adults on average £6 a game and £1 a game for kids.

The difference is by paying £27 I know where the money is going, I know EXACTLY what its being used for, and I dont begrudge paying it because ultimately it helps the club.

And also keeps the price of the kids shirts down
And with no shirt sponsorship to subsidise them

An every penny goes to the club arguement is frankly no arguement. The vast majority of the cash I spend on United goes to the club, be it players wages, initiatives they run, youth development etc. Still don't make my being ripped off right. Prices you charge sound much more like the job though, am impressed with them.

Why incidently is there no shirt sponsership? Is that a statement?

Its not an advertisement. Its the brand of shirt, no different to any other piece of sporting equipment you buy...

When you buy a Toyota car and its got their logo on it, does that mean they are advertising on your car ?

You must find it hard coming out of the supermarket trying to juggle your weekly shopping as you refuse a bag as it has the name of the supermarket on

Yes of course they are! don't be naive, it doesn't suit you

Every company does it though, tis the way of our world right now

You are still right though, no different to any other sporting equipment and would be tough to get made without it
