Further to discussions between FC United and Fleetwood Town FC we are pleased to report that the segregation restrictions intially proposed have been relaxed as the following press release from Fleetwood details: FLEETWOOD TOWN v FC UNITED OF MANCHESTER 15th September 2007 ’Following further discussions with the Police and FC United officials, we have taken the decision not to formally segregate the two sets of supporters for this game. We will, however, require the respective supporters to enter the ground by different turnstiles – Fleetwood Town supporters should enter by the Memorial Park turnstiles alongside our own Social Club with FC United supporters entering the stadium through the Highbury turnstiles alongside the Highbury Sports and Soccer Social Club. Once inside the ground, our stewards, supported by the local Police, will assist all supporters in ensuring they can enjoy the match safely. We would also advise that entry to our own Social Club will be by ticket only which will be issued to match day sponsors, officials and invited guests. We have had to take this decision simply because of the limited capacity of our club, which would not be able to cater otherwise for the number if supporters likely to want to use it.’ It is unfortunately too late to change FC’s initial ticket allocation which remains at 1600 but we have been assured that any FC supporters unsuccessful in securing a ticket, will, provided remaining availability, be able to purchase tickets direct from Fleetwood from Monday in the following ways: 1. In person from Fleetwood Town FC (Social Club) on weekday evenings (Monday 10th September to Friday 14th September) between 6.00 pm and 8.00 pm. 2. In person from the Fleetwood Weekly News Offices between Monday 10th September and Friday 14th September between 9.00 am and 5.15 pm. 3. By telephone on (01253) 777607 during normal office hours. Payment can be accepted by Debit or Credit card. Tickets will be restricted to a maximum of four tickets per person and will be accepted provided that purchases are made in time for the tickets to be posted out. FC United is grateful to Fleetwood for the positive manner in which they have responded to our representations. The success of the day and the newly relaxed approach to segregation relies upon our own highly-regarded self-policing and all supporters cooperating with stewards and police, ensuring a great day out is had by all. FA Cup 1st Qualifying Round Fleetwood Town v FC United of Manchester, Saturday 15th September 2007 Kick Off 3pm This game is to be played at Highbury Stadium, Park Avenue, Fleetwood, FY7 6TX The capacity of the ground is 3300 and on police advice this game is to be all ticket. FC United will receive an initial allocation of 1600 tickets. The club has been in close discussions with the police and Fleetwood Town to secure an increase in our allocation. Due to segregation being in place this is difficult, as the ground does not easily lend itself to segregation. Fleetwood Town and FC United are tied by the police decision on this matter. We are hopeful that this allocation could be increased if Fleetwood Town do not sell all their own allocation. FC United would like to extend our thanks to Fleetwood Town for their cooperation and help. There will be no admission to the stadium on the day of the game without a valid ticket. For safety and security reasons, Fleetwood Town are not able to accept cash payment on the day. Prices are: £7 Adults £4 Concessions |
