Pogba and Macheda playing on the wings, apparently. I haven't seen Pogba playing wide, but I know Macheda didn't impress me there playing for the first team.

Pogba's been playing on the right a fair bit for the reserves of late. I think they have been playing Macheda there, as with Welbeck, to improve his game awareness and workrate etc.

SAF has started a number of young players there over the years. Remember Nicky Butt starting wide for the same reasons you give

Fletcher started out on the right too I believe but I can't remember if he originally used to play there in the youth teams.

Dioufs looked lively. His overall player pretty good, pity his shooting is so hit and miss.

The pitch looks very tight. Even when players go past people there seems to be no space at all.

What do you all make of Fournasier? He didn't get much of a mention last year despite being part of the Youth Cup winning team. I think he looks pretty handy.

Anyway, I reckon Ravel should be on soon.

Aye, he's looked good anytime I've seen him.

It's turned into a horrible match to watch.

He did and he was awful on the right during his first senior season, yet there were people who thought he was better than Ronaldo there because he got a few assists. Much better in the middle. It might sound daft but perhaps Ferguson gives them a run on the wing so they can work on forward runs as understandably they need to provide the team with them more so on the wing, hence they improve their ability in that particular department.

SAF has said in the past that he's given central players runs out wide to varying degrees for their first appearances (Fletcher, Gibson, Pique, Welbeck) as if they aren't part of the spine there's less pressure on them.
