Campbell joins Hull City on loan
Manchester United youngster Fraizer Campbell has joined on loan until January.
The Huddersfield-born striker has impressed at youth and reserve level for United, signing professional terms in March 2006. He gained some experience in a loan spell with Royal Antwerp in Belgium last season, and has made two appearances from the bench for United's first team http://www.hullcity-mad.co.uk/news/l...TMNW&id=358466 |

Cambell to Hull
Tigers pounce for Campbell
United youngster joins Hull By Graeme Bailey Last updated: 18th October 2007 The 20-year-old has agreed a three-month loan deal at The KC Stadium and could make his debut against Watford this weekend. Campbell has been involved with United's first-team this season - making his debut against Manchester City, but Sir Alex Ferguson has allowed him to move on a temporary deal. "I don't think it's any secret that we like Fraizer and he's coming to us from a good club," said manager Phil Brown. "We believe he can do a good job and the important thing for us now is to make him feel very much at home and get him into the fold as quickly as possible. "We have a very tight-knit, super group of lads and I'm sure he'll enjoy his time here. "We've watched Fraizer over a period of months rather than weeks. Our chief scout Bob Shaw has seen him on several occasions as have Brian Horton and myself. "He was also on the television a number of times during Manchester United's pre-season because he played a lot of games. "I think we're all aware of his ability and what he can bring to us. It's all about giving him the confidence and opportunity to show that, which is something I'm sure we'll do." http://www.skysports.com/story/0,195...808503,00.html Journos love their animal puns, don't they? Didn't Wolves "pounce" on Gibson too? |

May not be the most attractive club we could have sent Campbell to, but for sure it will do him some good if he gets some goals and a run in the team. This move I'll keep a keener eye on than most as I really do like Campbell.

It's impressive, considering he hasn't been playing regular football for the first couple of months of the season. If he can maintain a good scoring record for Hull, then it will be a good sign for his future success.

This loan spell will definitely be good for his development and it seems for Hull as well. It was certainly doing him no good sitting in the reserves.
Speaking of Hull, didn't they recently sign Okocha? |

Another goal and MOTM performance at the weekend. Scored a peno last week.
Seems to be doing everything that's asked of him, may yet turn out to have an impact at MUFC. |

It seems that in the Championship that Campbell is doing exceptionally well. This is positive, as it's certainly more competitive than the reserve league and more physical. It's that part of his game I'm interested to hear about. He's only slight, but is he coping with the physical aspect of that league? If so then I have every confidence that he can make it at United.
However, United's record for buying forwards, and not producing forwards is quite well known. However, if he continues with this, it's replacing Saha that I think SAF might have in mind for Campbell. Whilst he may not be (at the moment) a better player, he's got every chance to become so, and his attributes are quite similar to Saha (though injuries every other day isn't one of them thankfully!). |

He is skinny but he's not short and he will fill out. If he keeps improving at this rate he might yet turn out to be a long-term replacement for Saha but that's a very big if and I reckon he'll stay out on loan until the end of the season, at least. |
