It's Cathcart!

Shows how desperate we are for defenders. He's nowhere near ready for the first team.

also got his first team number: 32

good experience for Craig. we have some really good young defenders in our academy.

Didn't see him on the squad list to face Roma on BBC today? Didn't get injured in the youth cup semi?

he did pick up a knock or two last night (think he took a bang to the head as well as either a hamstring twinge or just a bit of cramp), looked like was going off at one point in extra time but eventually came back on after treatment. wouldn't read too much into the squad list on the bbc anyway, they're notoriously inaccurate.

he seemed to pick up a calf strain or something, but finished the game. there were some tears when he went down, probably because he knew he wouldn't be on the flight today

Bad luck to Cathcart, we could have done with him in Rome as well as back up. Seeing as the only recognisable defenders we have are O'Shea, Rio, Wes and Heinze. Unless of course you count Richardson at left back a possibility.

This is the squad:

Man Utd (from): Van der Sar, Kuszczak, Heaton, O'Shea, Brown, Ferdinand, Heinze, Ronaldo, Scholes, Carrick, Fletcher, Eagles, Giggs, Richardson, Rooney, Saha, Solskjaer, Smith, Dong.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foot...pe/6517355.stm

So Im assuming Evra is still injured and Lee is playing with the reserves.

would be really surprised if Kieran Lee hasn't gone. any injuries to the back four and i guess we'll have Richardson at left-back :/
