What ever happened tp him? wasnt he the Youth team coach when we had Luke Steele, Eckersley, Pique, Spector, Pickens, Fox, Jones, Ngalula, Rossi, Blake and others in the Youth team? Was he sacked or did he quit on his own?

Fox was in 2002

Steele, Jones, Blake and Eckersley in 2003

Spector, Picken, Jones, N'Galula in 2004

Pique and Rossi in 2005

Brian McClair was the manager in 2003 and I believe Filho took over in 2004 and 2005 but when we got knocked out in the opening round at home to Stoke in 2005 it was a terrible disappointment. I don't think his contract was renewed at the end of 2004/05.

So many of the players you refer to were not under his management.

He was getting on a bit by the time he left I think, mid to late 60's. I'm sure it was him retiring from the game rather than simply not having his contract renewed, SAF was always very complimentary about him.
