amos, vermijl, fornasier, m.keane, mcginty, brown, pogba, petrucci, cole, diouf, macheda. if you swap Morrison with Brown - that leaves us with 1 midfielder/attacker who is decent or more defensively. And even him (Pogba) is better going forward than backwards Pogba, Petrucci, Cole, Morrison, Diouf and Macheda - that seems like a very unbalanced midfield. |

Plus Morrison was tweeting about a possible broken toe the other day, assuming if he's on the bench it was just a stubbed toe - but might still be a factor

pretty poor half of football. Think we are suffering from a lack of genuine width on the left.
Edit: Cole has been moved to the left now, Pogba wide right. |

Larnell Cole could easily play at a level with far higher tempo. Probably don't say much, though, considering the tempo has been very low. But he seems to have a quick head, and great movement both on and of ball. Reminds me a bit of Scholes, but without the long range passing.

Done a decent job on Jordan Slew, for the most part. Not looked as effective as he was over the 2 legs of the FA youth cup final.

Its easy to be harsh on Kiko but he was never a talented footballer to begin with, he's a talented finisher who finds himself stuck on the wing. Still he has "something" about him although time is against him in terms of showing it at United...

Finished 0-0, was a bit of a 0-0 game in fairness.
The team lacks balance, particularly out wide so we struggle to create apart from moments of brilliance. |

Went to Moss Lane to watch the game, pretty stagnant match. In all fairness I thought Blackburn's reserves were pretty good. Amos was solid again, Pogba continues to stand out as a real presence in the team, and I thought Diouf and Macheda looked OK up top. I like Petrucci too!
God it was bloody cold on that terrace, I'm still trying to get wam! |

Thought Morrisons quality stood out quite a lot, even though he only played 10 mins or so. Blackburn had some big lads in midfield and you could see that they couldn't get near him when we had struggled a lot against them previously. He'd have conjured up a few goalscoring opportunities had he been on the pith longer. He just seems so much more intelligent as a player compared to most of the others.

To be fair to Kiko, he's not exactly been given a fair crack at anything.
He got about five games last season, paired up front with either Owen or Obertan, in front of shite midfields who were never going to give him any service. Then he was sent on loan to some Italian team which served absolutely no purpose whatsoever, and who weren't interested in using him anyway as they knew he wanted to play in England. and now this season he's been given one first team chance...as a left footed winger, which he isn't, and doesn't even seem to get played in his position for the reserves, who he was already too good for two years ago. We've fucked up big time with him. Should have gone on loan to a premiership or championship side at the start of last season. |

My opinion of the players:
Amos - rock solid in an easy game. Taken big steps the last few seasons McGinty - good - but reckless in some challenges - could have been sent off M.Keane generally good - but lost his concentration ones which almost led to a penalty Fornasier - didn't have too much to do - but did everything correctly. Vermijl - good going forward a few times - lucky not to give away a penalty Brown - surprisingly decent passer of the ball - one of our better players Pogba - the only player looking to create something - maybe our best player Cole - did ok - but created very little going forward Petrucci - far away from what he was before the injuries. Anonymous Macheda - played out of position - but should still do better Diouf - struggled against Hanley who was MOTM - average performance |

How about the bit in bold. Where did you get the impression that he "wanted to play in England"? He obviously wants to play for Manchester United but I don't remember him ever saying he's determined to stay in England. If he doesn't make it at United, I'd say he'd arguably prefer to go back to Italy than join a club lower down the league in England. Taking your point to it's logical conclusion, surely any other English club should be, if anything, more reluctant to play him than a team in Italy? |

Pogue is right, Macheda has never stated that he wants to stay in England. If he doesn't make it at United (which in my opinion, I don't think he will - I've never rated him depsite that finish against Villa) then he'll be on his back to Italy.
