Port Vale complete Eckersley deal

Port Vale have completed the signing of defender Adam Eckersley on a free transfer from Manchester United.

The 22-year-old left-back recently had a short loan spell at Vale Park, making just two appearances before picking up a knee injury.

"It's a new thing for me. I have been at Manchester United since I was nine years old," he told Vale's website.

"I believe we have got a good chance of staying up in League One and I am happy to be back. It is a good club."

Was never going to make it. Good luck to him. Keano will probably sign him this transfer window anyway.

I really liked the look of him. thought he could progress. A mental "Stuart Pearce" kind of player without fansy flicks or dribbles.Just a good typical defender who gets stuck in and boots the ball out.

Yeah I liked the look of him too. Thought he had a bit more about him that Bardsley et al. Still, obviously not good enough.

His brother looks a better player when I have watched them.
