Sam Hewson
12.34 Manchester United youngster Sam Hewson has joined Hereford on a three-month loan deal. Meanwhile, Josh Gowling and Andy Williams have extended their loan deals from Carlisle and Bristol Rovers respectively.
Good starting loan move for him, I think. |

Yeah Ferguson spoke about that deal a few days ago - he thought it was a good deal for Hewson since Graham Turner was known for taking good care of his youngsters.
And I got the impression that Ferguson saw this as a long term solution rather than a short-term loan - or maybe it was my imagination ![]() Maybe it was just the use of the words : "Good place to start his footballing career" that got me thinking |

Whilst I have enjoyed some of the performance I have seen Hewson put in for the Youth/Reserves. With this move to Hereford I think it is the final nail in his hopes for a career in the top flight.
Yep it sounded like when he was talking of Eagles possible transfer to Burnley and then subsequent move. He said that would be good for him. |

Campbell made his first loan move at Antwerp, arguably around League One standard, before moving to newly-promoted Hull and could now break into Premiership squads (blast you Spurs). If he impresses, he'll be able to secure a Championship move and go on from there. Age is against him, though - I had no idea he was 20 already! I confess, though, that although he's a talented young lad, I didn't think he would make it, although I thought he'd have a good future in the Championship or thereabouts. |

Sky Sports | Football News | Premier League | Manchester United | Shakers sign United starlet
Shakers sign United starlet Hewson to see out the season at Gigg Lane By Chris Galea Last updated: 3rd February 2010 League Two title challengers Bury have swooped to sign highly-rated Manchester United youngster Sam Hewson on loan, after gaining clearance from the Premier League. The loan deal, which will see the midfielder stay at Gigg Lane for the rest of the season, was initially completed on Monday, but the Shakers were awaiting clearance to rubber-stamp the move. However, the 21-year-old is now available for selection at the weekend and Shakers boss Alan Knill believes the youngster will give his side a new attacking dimension. "We have signed him now and he is available to play for us at the weekend [against Bradford]," he told skysports.com. "He will firstly bring us more competition for places, which I feel we have been lacking in recent weeks. "However, he is also a really good footballer that can play in a variety of attacking positions, in the centre or on the left or right as well as just behind the strikers, so he will give us a lot more options in terms of team shape." Belief The Shakers maintained their push for a top three finish on Monday with a 1-0 win over local rivals and league leaders Rochdale, and Knill believes that result shows his side are a force to be reckoned with in this season's promotion race. "It was important to get the win against the league leaders because it shows that we can compete with arguably the best side in the division, which based on the league table they currently are," he added. "That victory has installed a lot of belief into our players because we believe that on our day we can beat anyone in this division and we are only going to get stronger when some of the injured players return to full fitness." |

Wacthing the reserves you can really tell who has had 1st team experience. They do look more sharper.
Good luck to him, I cannot see him really making it at Old Trafford what with the talent at our disposal through the ranks. |
