U-16's v Everton

United played Everton at Liverpool on Saturday morning and took an early lead through Matthew James and then Olliver Norwood. United had most of the first half and were clearly the better team. Everton had to resort to the high ball and were very cynical at times with some strong challenges.

The second half started with the game very fragmented as neither team could find any rhythm. However, once United got their shape back, further goals from Norwood (great free kick), Bryant (lob of advancing keeper) and Ajose (beat about three players in the box) made the scoreline more convincing.

United were well worth their victory and played some great football, particularly in the last 20 minutes.

Team: Woods, Stewart, Dudgeon, Norwood, Longworth, Strickland, Lampkin, James, Bryant, Ajose, Potts

Subs: Roberts (11), Farrelly (3), Moffatt (5)

Scorers: James, Norwood 2, Bryant, Ajose

Apparently Joe Farrelly was making his comeback after nearly 18 months out of the game injured.

This was only the 4th game of the season for the under-16's...

Results so far are.....

United 4 Newcastle 3
Leeds 2 Man Utd 2
United 8 Huddersfield 1
Everton 0 Man Utd 5
