U/16's v Huddersfield

United's next generation annihilated Huddersfield at Carrington this morning. The young reds won 8-1 but it could easily have been 15 given their superiority.

Kenny Strickland and Gary Woods returned to the team.....with the young Liverpool born defender captaining the side. However, it was the young triallist from Oldham, Danny Philliskirk who grabbed most of the attention with a first half hat-trick. Danny is the son of Tony Philliskirk an ex-pro, and showed some excellent touches, great control and clearly knows where the back of the net is. Whether his trial will be successful ......time will tell.

United played some cracking football and in the second period were rampant. Special mention must go to Joe Dudgeon, Oliver Norwwod and Nick Ajose who all looked very good.......but to be fair it was a cracking team performance.

Team: Woods, Moffatt, Dudgeon, Gill, Strickland, James, Ajose, Norwood, Williams, Philliskirk, Bryant

Subs: Stewart (9), Potts (3), Lampkin (10)

Scorers: Bryant, Philliskirk 3, Norwood, Ajose, Stewart, Lampkin

He looks solid.......and definitely there on merit....but the defence didn't have much to do so it's hard to gauge...............

Tony, do you have the score in the Ipswich and Reading games? And the team for those games and the Newcastle one?
If you have it, I would be thankfull if you shared.

Would you say that the u-16s are more promising than the u-18s?

The U-16's didn't play Reading or Ipswich...........not sure who they played instead.....

The 16's defeated Newcastle 4-3......but I don't know the line up as the game was switched to the all weather pitch which is not next to the 18's and I therefore didn't watch it.

I will try to find out some more info this weekend....
