Where are they now? (Former) Manchester United trainees

I thought it would be a nice idea to keep track of our (former) trainees, to see how they're getting on; to see if there's any real problems in our Academy in terms of producing talent.

I don't want to list every single one who's played for us at some time, so I'll simply be starting with all the players in our Under-18s and Reserves this season (2008/2009), as well as those who transferred at the end of last season.

I'm sure I'm missing people, so do tell.

So...

At Manchester United
Ben Amos
Antonio Bryan
James Chester
Tom Cleverley
James Derbyshire
Danny Drinkwater
Richard Eckersley
Magnus Eikrem
Jonny Evans
Corry Evans
Fábio da Silva
Daniel Galbraith
Darron Gibson
David Gray
Sam Hewson
Matthew James
Federico Macheda
Rodrigo Possebon
Rafael da Silva
Danny Welbeck
Ron-Robert Zieler
Nicky Ajose
Robert Brady
Evandro Brandão
Reece Brown
Chris Curran
James Derbyshire
Conor Devlin
Joe Dudgeon
Oliver Gill
Joshua King
Scott Moffatt
Oliver Norwood
David Petrucci
Cameron Stewart
Kenny Strickland
Gary Woods
Scott Wootton

On loan
Febian Brandy (Swansea)
Fraizer Campbell (Tottenham)
Craig Cathcart (Plymouth)
Lee Martin (Nottingham Forest)
Danny Simpson (Blackburn)
Tom Heaton (Cardiff City)

Former players
Chris Eagles (Burnley, undisclosed)
Kieran Lee (Oldham, free)
Michael Lea (Scunthorpe, free)
Séan Evans (Aberystwyth Town, free)
Michael Barnes (Northwich Victoria, free; released September 2008)
Conor McCormack (Triestina, free)
Chris Fagan (Glenn Hoddle Academy, free)
Ritchie Jones (Hartlepool, free)

Does anyone know what happened to Chris Fagan? Seems to have vanished after multiple trials.

Chris Fagan is part of the Glenn Hoddle Academy.

Planning to try and compile a list like this for my site once I've got player profiles finally done, quite interesting to see where everyone is.

I could name all of them but that would mean that the list would be too large.

It's not too hard to figure out where all our former trainees went but I'm trying to start one from now.

Yup. And Higginbotham's at Stoke on loan.

Played Total Club Manager 2005 a couple of months back and saw these two, and it was weird. And Kleberson was actually good...

A few off the top of my head

Craig Lawton - left United for Port Vale, now at a Welsh Club, Bala Town. He played for Connah's Quay for years.
Dessie Baker - left United for 7 years at Shelbourne. He is now at Shamrock Rovers.
Arthur Gomez - signed by United at sent by them on loan to Antwerp to get a work permit. His contract wasn't renewed after he was eligable for one. He is now at Henan in China.
Colin McKee - left United in 1994 and went around various Scottish clubs. His last club was Foldhouse or something like that before retiring.

They were all decent players on FM at one stage, apart from Dessie Baker.

True, but who won that game?

And was he not instrumental in defence?

Well done to him. Remembered him being mentioned as the own goal scorer, just though I pointed that out.

Where did Ngalula "our Next Vieira" go?

Feel shame about Barnes, he looks very promising in Malaysia 2 season ago in a youth tourno.

Ngalula had a season with Randers in the Danish league but didn't play before signing with Sparta Rotterdam this summer.

Souleymane Mamam has been on trial at Birmingham City for the last couple of weeks and they're close to making a decision on whether or not to offer him a contract.
