Will Keane
What are people's thoughts on him? Looked like a rising star last season but seems to have gone very quiet this season - has he scored any yet? What do people think the reason for it might be?

He scored the winning penalty v Blackburn.
I think he's played almost constant football for the past year and may be in need of a break. He's been playing a bit deeper with the form of Cofie and has played well, just not up to the levels of last season. |

His general play is good because he's a good player but I think its flowing through Cofie at the minute. A lot of people would have expected Cofie to have done what he's doing this season, last season but for whatever reason it didn't click
Keane is doing fine but when your a striker people look at the goals and obviously they're not falling his way yet. Collectively though it is often tough to focus solely on a player because we're 'blessed' with talent' at the minute. If none of King, Cofie or Keane make it? Something is very wrong. Keane on his days a tremendous player but we can say that about the others and quiet patches don't distract from that - it's all character building and growing up at this stage. |

Think he has been a bit off-key this season, not so much in terms of goals but just his touch, his link-up play, they've not quite been up to the standards of last season. Nothing to really be concerned about, young players go through peaks and troughs of form.

It's not often you see a team with both strikers in form, we're seeing it in the first team with Rooney and Berbatov.
Cofie is in fine form and as it was said before he is being played closer to goal with Keane in a deeper role. There is a lot of the season left at both reserve and academy level so give it a couple weeks and he may strike the rich vein of form that he was in last term. |

This could be the thread that kick-starts his season. If only the Rooney one could have a similar effect... |

remember reading last year that the brother only declared for Ireland cause he wasn't good enough at the time for england, and it was felt the exposure to the international setup and further football would benefit him - seemingly he still plans on playing for England like his brother.

He's got an extremely important role in the team to provide the width as we are not playing with natural wingers this season since Ajose and Brady have moved up to the Reserves. He's been extremely impressive in recent games and been a good source of chances. He looks a bit ungainly, but seems quite skilful and is his movement is very good.

one was a pen
but they all count. Gutted we didn't get to see Cofie and Keane up top today as they're both in form now but wasn't to be. Keanes first was a very good goal touching it by the goalkeeper ans sliding it in cooly

Keane to rule at Old Trafford again?
No, not that one. William Keane, a local lad and great prospect for United fans.
As the plot thickens for Man Utd’s striking situation, Will Keane could be the long-term answer. Only 17, the academy prospect has impressed in the Reserve teams and at under 17 and under 18 level. As a second striker, it may be a little much to say that this wonderkid could be the new Rooney, but he has shown a goal scoring capability at youth level and is comfortable on the ball. He can create chances and make space for himself and others, and is a seemingly natural finisher. After signing professional forms, he has quickly progressed into one of Fergie’s hottest prospects. And, he has shown a knack for scoring against Man City, always useful. With Rooney still not back to his best form, the transfer rumours surrounding Dimitar Berbatov getting ever more common, and interest and loan enquiries being made for Federico Macheda, a lot of pressure has fallen on Javier Hernandez’s shoulders. Should Sir Alex blood this youngster and create a new hero? Or should he wait but possibly run the risk of this talent being squandered? Keane is certainly a name that fans love at Old Trafford, so let’s see him… Keane To Rule Again At Old Trafford?? | The Transfer Tavern | Where football transfer rumours fly or die! I am really excited by all I am hearing about this lad. Can those who see the youth teams comment on his development? |

I would rather see Macheda with another striker (not Obertan).
Kiko's going to be a great player, but he has to play with Berbatov or Hernandez. I'm obviously writing about our sixth match in Champions League against Valencia. Keane is in our Euro squad, isn't he? |

![]() I remember when Macheda came on the pitch against Villa that day. He's 19 days younger than me, but Keane?! 1,5 year.

I think Welbeck is going to progress much farther than Kiko, who I think could become a good 3rd striker, it seems he plays better as a sub than a starter |

He's done very well. Cofie started the season with a bang but got injured and Keane really started to find last seasons form. He's still the same size, but his link up play, his general play has been good and he's a goal scorer. I think he's got 14 or so goals this season but not entirely sure.

He says he has similar qualities but I see Keane with also a touch of the Teddy Sheringham. It seems almost inevitable when we produce a player like the Keanes,Morrisons,Pogba that they are compared to former greats.I only hope that they fulfil their obvious potential with Utd |
