Alan Green wants United to win tonight

During his commentary on the Arsenal game last night, he said he hopes Beckham plays tonight because "that would ensure United go through".

Imo he is correct - Milan needs pace and flair to go through tonight - and if Pato is missing I can't see them doing it

He only says that because he knows he is expected to support the English (British) team. The same way as he always quotes his commentary during the 1999 CL Final, which I never heard but would have expected him to be "supporting" us.

In private I'll bet he really wants Milan to win - and notice how he turned it into a Beckham dig: That is because he is one of United's past heroes.

No-one will ever convince me that he has ever wanted, or will ever want, United to win anything unless to help Liverpool.

Carrick's fucked over our midfield quite a bit with that retarded sending off, so Beckham might get a bit more room to play his game tonight.

I hope Alan Green dies

He can never say anything positive about United without throwing something spiteful into it. But then again, I would probably behave in the same way if I was an arrogant, bitter, scouse-loving slob.

You're probably 100% correct.

As a side note, the darts player Adrian Lewis looks like what would have happened if Alan Green and Sam Allardyce could breed.

Alan Green hates Beckham. Every England game or club game Beckham is playing or even just on the bench he spends the whole game bitching about him. He spent most of the England-Egypt game moaning about Becks even though he didn't play.

It's fucking ludicrous. I've given up listening to Five live on my way back cos it's such poisonous shit I can't bare it any longer. Occasionally people bring him up on his more obvious biases (Beckham being one) but then he'll just cut them off or speak over them and claim he's "just a real fan like everyone else" which is utter bollocks.

Problem is, I've got to listen to Collymore now.

The lesser of two evils? I don't know who is worse to be honest

I have given up listening to both 5 Live and Talk sport now, why cant the White van man realise they are saying stupid argumentative things to get them to ring/text them and spend their money?

I'd say Collymore is the worse I can't listen to him or Talk Sport for that matter.

What a daft git.

Beckham playing might ensure we go out. It all depends on if we give him too much space or opportunities to wreak havoc inside our box. But we shouldnt take anything Alan Green says seriously. He's a very foolish man.

This one's tough for Green - ex United hero playing United.

I'll bet he's very confused.

Not that confused I reckon, he has a basic stance of hating everthing about everyone, so all we have here is escalated conflicting levels of hate, which will probably just make him slightly more annoying than usual.

He's clearly got some cosy arrangement whereby he chiefly covers United, Liverpool and (less often) the other clubs near his Cheshire home. That is, unless a London club is away in Europe and he gets a nice all expenses trip to Milan or Barcelona.

So, will he be commentating on Spurs v Arsenal in April? - fuck no

Will he be commentating on United v Liverpool in 10 days? - wild horses couldn't stop the cunt giving his two cents on the 'nasty hostile atmosphere directed at Liverpool'
