He's fucking top class when on form. I remember (I think) having reservations about us signing him. How wrong I was.

Better player for me or at least more consistent than Ashley Young.

Don't worry Solius, Valencia proved me wrong as well. I'm hoping Young will eventually do the same though I remain unconvinced.

We need to replace the goals and Valencia doesn't score many and I don't think he is United quality, nor is he worth the money we apparently are buying him for.

He's one of our most consistent performers. He's a tough nut aswell, hard to get to the ball off him.
And I love the way he doesn't celebrate his goals. When there is still time to play and you haven't won anything yet what is there to celebrate. I love that attitude, at the end of a game or even the end of a season when holding a trophy in your hands should be the only time to celebrate. It's one thing I don't understand about professionals, when you score a goal in the first 10 minutes of a game what are you doing that dance on the sidelines for and looking so fucking happy. You have 80 minutes still left to play and probably half a season or whatever left aswell, get back in position and concentrate on the game, you have achieved nothing yet until the final whistle is blown.

Bit of a rant there.

Go Valencia!

He's got a rocket of a shot on him, I'd like to see him use it a bit more.

Bit of an odd rant. Scoring is a fantastic feeling and it's hard and unnatural to suppress your happiness. I've only scored at football in the park level or for my school and that still felt immense so I can only imagine what it feels to score in the Premier League.

Indeed... that goal he scored against Leeds was a belter. He should attempt those kind of long shots more often I think... somewhere between Valencia and Nani is the perfect balance of how/when you should attempt shots from long range!

It's a great feeling but only if it helps your team win. What good is a goal if you end up losing 3-1. Maybe it's just in my area or something but hardly anyone celebrates when they score, we just get on with the game

Well it is serious. Staying in Saturday nights, training three times a week, trying to eat the right food and get the right amount of rest are sacrifices worth doing if you win on a Sunday morning not if you get beat 3-1 but score a goal. I'm happy for the week after a win not if I score a goal

A supporter is different to a player. I celebrate goals when United score absolutely but as a player I just want to make sure the job is finished before celebrating anything

I'm glad he's found his form of late. Was hoping for him to have that one good performance after a horrible start to the season.

The end of season piss up is crazy. After all the sacrifices the team makes it's the best craic ever after it's all over

Fair play. I could never take football that seriously. Enjoy a kickabout and a match on a saturday but if it ever got too serious to the point where you can't enjoy it unless you win i'd pack it in.

So what do we think about Valencia and when he's been at his best for us?

09/10 or now?

For me his best ever games were a few in last years run in. At a consistent level though? Probably the month before the Liverpool game yeah. He was very good in 09/10 too.

I would be surprised if anybody actually believed he would be this good though. He looked far from this level when he first came..

He looked pretty fecking excellent when he was still at Wigan. Don't think I've ever seen an opposition winger give John O'Shea such a hard time as he did in this game.

He always looked really good at Wigan and he was only 22 so I don't get why people say that nobody ever expected that much from him here. I didn't expect much from him in contrast to the actual player he replaced (obviously) but that's about it. I always expected him to become top class, though I wasn't expecting it so soon and on such a consistent level.

He looked good at wigan, yes, even when he came but i never thought he'd become one of the best wingers then though. he looked very one dimensional and i figured defenders would figure him out soon. to his credit, he looks unstoppable nonetheless.

Not saying that i didnt rate him, but yeah, didnt expect him to be this good and on such a consistent basis..

I think he's looking a lot better right now. He was consistently good during the 09/10 season, which was a major advantage, but he's been on fire over the past month or so.

Luis Enrique might not play because he has an injury. He better tear their left back a new one on Saturday.
