Is anyone going to Rome?
Got the Ballot results today and ive got 4 tickets. Trying to sort out flights etc but ill still have 2 tickets available if anyone is interested. Think they'll probably post out voucher and have to collect tickets in Rome. Hopefully not though, spoke to ticket office today and they told me tickets were being posted tonight

flight out of dublin 12pm tuesday and back 9am weds so straight back to airport after the game. £130 return. For all you that have been to rome before, whats the easiest way of getting to rome (hard rock or wherever the pick up for tickets may be in city centre), and back to the airport after the game without gettin seven shades of shit kicked out of me? |

As much as I don't fancy being stabbed.. I fancy even less.. watching the game.. then getting twatted by the Italian Police.. on live TV.. with half of my client base looking on.. saying look.. there's Shane on telly.. he must be one of those football hooligans.. let's have nothing more to do with the cunt...
Fuck that. |

RALPHIE88'S PATENTED DIRECTIONS FOR AVOIDING GETTING A KICKING/STABBING IN ROME:
If it follows the pattern of previous Roma games (I've been 3 times with English teams, twice with United) then the city will be safe till it gets dark (Place Fiori is the only place to really avoid, but that's out your way anyway). Buses are put on from the middle of a park not far from the Spanish Steps (Villa Borghese). You will be given a map with your voucher and told to get them at 6pm - DO NOT (you will just be sat in the car park for 2 hours and if you're on the first convoy you may well get bricked). The safety of the convoys will probably depend on whether United walk up again - therefore distracting the ultras. Get to the buses for about 7.00-7.30 (assuming it's an 8.45 KO) and you should be in the second convoy. Don't get on the first bus (the highest risk of getting attacked). Stand with your back to the windows on the right and wear a hat. Don't be tempted to get a cab to the ground. They'll drop you off at the wrong end! At the ground do not speak with the coppers, and do not photograph them. In fact at all times stay a baton's length away from the fuckers - they have a tendancy to strike for no reason whatsoever (their fave trick is to turn their batons around and hit you with the handle). In the ground stand at the back to the right (the missiles will come from the Curva to your left - glass bottles full of piss are the ones to watch for). Wear a hat! Make sure you have a piss/get a drink before the start of the second half as they'll keep you in with no access to the concourse for an hour after the final whistle. Get the same buses back (same rules apply), then the bus shuttle from the main station to the airport (about 45 mins). You will get back to the main Bus Station about midnight. You will be safe as houses mate. Enjoy, wish I was there. |

Cheers for that Ralphie, i read the PM before i read this post. Good advice, ill def take it on board. I feel like im goin to a fuckin war zone by listening to some of the stories, but ive known loads of lads that have been before and all seem to have come through it unscathed (barring a few scrapes). I should be arriving into ciampino around 4pm, straight from there to city centre, pick up tickets and then take your directions from there. Thanks again fella. |

One of the young lads who is in our regular match attending group, went over on his own when he was 16... the year the coppers kicked off..
He said all was happy and rosey until the Coppers kicked off.. then it was shady as fuck after the game.. but all the build up was fairly sweet. |

Ring up the club and ask if there have been any returns. If not, just go on RI and buy a voucher of someone flogging a spare. Then pick it up in Rome. Doesn't matter if your name doesn't match so long as you've got the voucher. |
