fair play to city - we were pure shit - let them play when we should have been ruthless and tore them a new one
i prefer to think positively - we won the game, we're in the next round of the cup and the players will be disappointed for themselves they definately have something to prove and when we head to eastlands in April the players will be up for it good to go there with something to prove |

I think if you check back through any of Taylor's blogs regarding our keepers, he doesn't miss an opportunity to perpetuate a myth. This is the pre-cursor to a 'United don't have a keeper to rely on' blog in the near future. He has done a pretty good job with DDG

Maybe a lot of people in the online media were annoyed that they didn't get to use the 'Empire crumbling/Grandad Fergie/Barcacity/Shift in Manc power' crap they had ready-loaded on a template; instead, they actually had to work.

It's unbelieveable Ed. I've never witnessed anything like this before. So City pulled 2 goals back when they were down to 10 men. So what? Why does there seem to be this myth that they played really well? Because they didn't.
They basically came out to defend in the second half and let us have the ball. We gave them 2 goals through our utter shitness and the media had (and are still having) a field day about this moral victory. Utter rubbish. |

To be honest, they did have the moral victory. At the end of the game it felt almost like they'd beaten us, since the odds were so stacked against them and they came so close.
The point is, in a year's time no-one will care except the more bitter of the City fans. Who cares that ours was the 'moral victory' against Arsenal in the 2005 cup final? |

But he's paid (probably very well too) to share those opinions on one of my favourite football shows.
Fair enough he doesn't think the Kompany tackle was worthy of a red but the moral victory? Do me a favour. |

Did Thompson mention City's moral victory over Liverpool the other night? Y'know...when Liverpool parked the bus for an entire half? No? Thought not.

When we lost on pens to Arsenal, we had the moral victory because we outplayed them. City didn't outplay us, but City had ten men. They did about as well, against a top side 3-0 up with an extra player, as was possible, while we went to pieces and bottled it. Hence theirs was the moral victory. |

City did have a great come back, the stopped us avenging the 6-1. Hence why we must beat them at home by a similar scoreline
We had to settle for knocking the holders out the cup |

Yes we did, as well as when we lost to Arsenal in the 2005 final. Far more than City have a moral victory now. We dominated those two games, and the results will scar forever.

moral, nor moral, its just a word! the truth is City wee bloody impressive in that 2nd half and had we worried. Nothing wring in admitting that.
That said, I think Kompany's red card was not 'unlucky' and we murdered them in the first half and should have scored five. all in all, we well deserved the win. why are we still talking about this??? As keano said after the match, we're still IN the cup, City are not. Case closed. |
