Are Arsenal a bigger threat to Chelsea than we are?
Alex seems to think so.
Alex: Arsenal are a bigger threat than United It's not an altogether stupid opinion either. They'll go ahead of us if they win their game in hand and they've still got van Persie to come back yet. They'll probably struggle if Fabregas doesn't get back soon, but we'd be equally affected without Rooney. I think a lot of people underestimated Arsenal this year and they have as good a chance as anyone to win the league. |

Mind games....personally i think Chelsea should worry about finishing in the top 2 let alone worrying about who they deem their biggest threat is....theyve looked anything but convincing for a fair while now.

Don't we always have this discussion at Christmas?
It's always too early to tell with Arsenal. Two years ago they were storming for the title until their squad got found out after Christmas. Same last year, wasn't it? |

Of course not.
It's unbelievable just how much people seem to want to underrate this team. They may have a game in hand, but we have the little fact of having won the past 3 league titles behind us. Chelsea would be stupid to ignore us as their biggest threat. |

At this point in time, right as of now, Arsenal appear to be playing better and if some oddball scientist concocted a graph of the current trend then Arsenal would possibly finish above us but I am confident United will pull their recent poor results around and come back strongly.
Subjectively, we have also had a 5-0 win over Wigan inbetween recent poor results and also you could say being out of the FA Cup could be one less distraction and we could now concentrate on the league and Europe. |

I'm of the opinion that a lot of our poor form recently has been down to the fact that we've had 8 senior defenders plus Van Der Sar injured. The knock on effect has seen Fletcher and Carrick in defence which affects the midfield. And ultimately that has affected the ability of the midfield to create chances for the strikers. |

I think Arsenal have looked the strongest so far except for a couple of games (like the one against Chelsea incidentally), then Chelsea and us about the same level. I wouldn't put any of the three teams as favorites for the title honestly. I think we are more fragile and prone to stupid defeats than them though.

Arsenal have looked like the best side this year to me
Will be interesting to see what happens when both us and them get back to full strength, especially with Chelsea losing some players to the African Nations. |

With the CAN now, Arsenal may extend their stay near the top. but I think it's inevitable they'll falter, especially considering the injuries they seem to be bugged by. |

Originally I didnt think Arsenal would have enough to launch a serious title bid this season. And they may not go on to do that, so I may still have been right. But given the weird nature of this season where really Chelsea havent realised the full potential of the talent in their squad and run away with it by now like they should have and we still havent seen the best of all our players either, perhaps Arsenal will have enough afterall. I'll just have to wait and see.

I'm not sure that momentum will account for much. We look less confident than we did last season (and we weren't amazing last season, despite our superb results).
