Someone having fun on wiki again.

"He is due to take up the position of Assistant Manager of Manchester United in September 2008."

Its a very long way of doing it. But with technology its instant, and incredibly accurate. I really do respect Sam Allardyce for trying this cutting edge technology, and I dont know why everyone has such a problem with him.

Id welcome him as our number 2.

Well, only if Cantona is busy. Im aware he is unqualified, inexperienced etc but, cummon, Cantona back? Hell yeah! Viva la king.
A lot of the suggestions here are along the completely wrong lines, as if what we need in an assistant to Ferguson is the same kind of strengths that we would need to replace him. What we need is someone who can compensate and balance him.

Queiroz has been perfect: Comprehensive knowledge of modern football tactics, defensive organisation, training techniques, hands on knowledge about youth development, portugese language ability - areas where, if we were to admit it, Ferguson is not at his strongest compared to other class managers.

He is probably not charismatic, a genial team builder thinking of everything and able to raise the bar for everyone around him - which he didn't need to, cause Alex is number one in the world at this.

I suspect Eric would be a better manager than a manager's assistant for us. What we need is some portugese nerd we probably never heard about.

Are you all insane?

Cantona has no real coaching experience and some of you are not only stupid enough to want him as assistant but actually think he would be even better as manager.

I fecking give up.

We want a professional coach. Merely being a famous former United player isn't qualification enough you buffoons.

Send a message via MSN to noodlehair
John O'Shea can probably step in until an adequate replacement can be found

I like to see Ronald Koeman or Laurent Blanc as assistant manager.

I reckon Pako would be a good addition to our staff. Speaks Spanish which is very similar to Portuguese and apparently has the same qualities as Carlos, from what I've been able to read about him...

I think he could help us explore the Spanish market and identify the new Fabregases and Pique's of the Spanish academies.

Rumour has that Querioz has suggested some names to Fergie before he went off and Fergie has agreed to check and streamline things after which Querioz would return from WC and take over United.

That bloke that bickered with Benetiz and fucked off..is also there in the reckoning.

We need this sorted now really. Think we do miss CQ, and although its early in the season, and weve had a limited player selection, were missing that final product so far.

So, have the rumours all died down? Anyone in the running? Or are we still sticking to 3 or 4 sort of assistants?
