away days??

as manchester united fans what would be your ideal away matches??

you can choose any teams from the english leagues.

i always wanted blackpool away cos you could have a great day out before and after the match.

i also always used to like going to watch united play forest at the city ground cos for some reason something funny always used to happen before or during the game. one that stands out is when a crazy lone forest fan charged the united fans as we were walking over the bridge over the trent and he was promptly jumped on,picked up and then thrown off the bridge.

Yes you did Manx.

But i've been hoping for that fixture every year since their unfortunate demise

Nothing would even come close to an away day at Anfield.

Ye but half our end is Execs, so it takes away from it a touch.

Compare that to our end at Stoke this coming season.

Blackpool would be rubbish - their away end is about 1,200 and is uncovered down one side. No atmosphere at all and open to the elements.

Leeds or City away in the Cup would be outstanding.

And I always loved trips to Hillsborough - over 7,000 in the away end. Quality.

Currently my favourite aways are Blackburn and Villa. Although Everton always has a nice edge to it. Liverpool, City, Arse and Chelsea away are just tourist central now.

Forgot about Wednesday...good shout.

So you're favourites are the one's with big allocations basically!
Easy to please

Agree about Everton, still a bit of tension round there, with the Valley incident etc.

Boro was class last year, but a tiny allocation, and no standing warnings.

Yeah you need a decent allocation. The FA Cup aways can be superb - Villa last year and Boro the year before were fantastic!

Can you just imagine Leeds in the Cup though!

Big ground, so we'd get about 5,500, would be absolute class.

A coachful from my local went to leeds millwall at elland road last season.

Apparently it was carnage, the millwall fans booted all the windows out of their bus to try and get to the leeds fans.

You could get them in the home end last season if I remember correctly.

Although probably not advisable!
